    Been some fairly heavy snow this afternoon which turned to sleet then back to rain.Ever so often it turns back to snow again. The hills around Swindon are white due to the higher altitude allowing the snow to settle, i've taken the kids up there to have a look about as they 'pine' for snow.Some good quality snow about 3" deep.Seems wierd as the hills are only about 2 miles from where we live.

    Has slight sleet/snow around 10.30 here in Swindon.Drizzle all day after that.

    Oh well it's stopped now, we had a couple of cms covering roads and grass. Here's a pic just taken on my camera phone...............my daughter i can just make out in the street.

    At last the snow has reached Swindon!! Arrived around 17.45.Fairly heavy at times.

    Amazing snowy pics guys! I've been showing my kids who are desperate for snow and can't believe them! Here in Swindon looking out the window looks dry and clear, however step outside and it's between 0- and -1c with no frost at all. I'm watching the mild front pushing in from the west and wondering if as it hits this cold air whether any snow is forming?............it's our only chance!

    This was mentioned on tonights weather forecast also, would be nice for some to see.

    I can confirm that!!!..............was like a blizzard at times here.The car is covered and it did start to settle but it's now stopped.

    Just had a very heavy gusty shower from the NW, typical just as my kids come out of school.

    Just had a rain front move through here in swindon, absolutely torrential with very gusty winds! I got soaked front shows up nicely on radar.

    The very slow moving rain approaching from the west is now here!.......Very heavy rain with large drops falling as i type.Looks as if i've got rain for the next few hours.

    That last cell Andy has just cleared Swindon, lots of CGs and very heavy rain.We had 2 cells in total, the storm is now moving off NE.

    Lots of CG's here in Swindon accompanied with some very heavy rain.Caught an excellent flash on my camera phone! :huh: ..........seems to dying down a bit now.

    Same here in Swindon!! huge drops of rain but the sky is only 'hazy' :blink: 25c and very humid.I have a feeling we could be in for 'fireworks' later!!

    Time 13.30 in Swindon Wiltshire. Torrential rain bouncing off the ground and several flashes of lightning! Only lasted 15 mins max.Came from the west across to the east.

    I was at Castle Combe race circuit Nr Chippenham Wilts (Nr J17 M4) weather was fairly warm and sunny until 12.00pm when the rain band arrived :unsure: .You could see the people that had not looked at the weather forecast, they were just wearing T-shirts :unsure: .I had by waterproof and brolly at the ready, which was just as well as it chucked it down! After 3 hours most people had had enough and were leaving, most soaked to the skin.All in all a good day.
