The much needed rain is here! Not as heavy as i expected but constant. 100% cloud cover with light wind from the East (strange as the band of rain is moving SW to NE ).Looks like the rain will ease in the next hour, so maybe a few bright spells!

Not a bad day at all.Started grey and cool,then became humid with the odd spot of rain.The afternoon got warmer actually beginning to feel hot in the odd bit of sunshine.Top temp around 22-23c and humid. I can see on the radar the rain over Cornwall and parts of Devon, can anyone report on this from that area??

Time 09.08 Grey and overcast (odd spot of rain) 15c Little or no wind. What a relief after the hot n sticky night we had. B) Looks like the predicted mist that will soon burn off, letting temps 'rocket' again. :o

Has been sunny all day, lots of hot sunshine.Currently 27c

Swindon had a nice storm starting aroung 19.30 from the SW, very very dark causing the street lights to go on.Loads of cloud to cloud with heavy rumbles of thunder and heavy rain! It's been a good year for storms so far with more to come i hope.

Just been filming a storm here at 1340 had the most amazing instant flash/crack, very very close to me! As i'm filming i literally jumped.Car alarms went off and so did the phones and internet.........cool.

Still getting regular flashes and rumbles here in Swindon.It's been going for a few hours now, as i seem to be in the middle of the area affected ...........as i typed had a huge flash/rumble!

I can confirm a storm over Croydon (south London) around 12.15, lightening and torrential rain.Only visiting the reltives

Swindon, 16c a very gusty wind from the SW, 95% cloud cover, mostly grey and overcast! What a change from yesterday!

Interesting day my be instore for many of us.Cape will be rising up from northern France and over the SW of England peaking moderately this afternoon, LI will be around zero for a time, so thundery showers possible with the bands of rain pushing up from the SW this morning. Already had a heavy shower around 12.00 and strikes are showing up in the heavy showers in North Devon.

Hey Andy i was just up the road from you at Castle Coombe around this time and had the torrential rain................didn't see any lightening as i was in the cafe having some grub!

Just finished washing my car, had a heavy hail shower which sent the kids running inside!
