A lot of forecasters would disagree with this statement, including the Met office

It's not even winter yet!!!!! We still have lots of autumn to get through so things will change. How can you say comments like this when not even the most experienced forecaster can predict this far out

Yes sorry Hotspur61 for the harsh comment this morning, but I would really love a white Christmas this year. I have 2 young children and for them to wake up on Christmas day with snow on the ground would make it very special indeed

I care, when it's cold and snowy during the run up to Christmas it makes the festive season more speacial and snow on Christmas day would be a bonus

Sorry for ruining your day but, it really bugs me and ruins my day when I come on hear in the morning and read negative comments and people writing off the first(and in my eyes most speacial) part of winter When winter has not even started. Sorry if it sounded harsh.

All this talk of winter arriving too early.... Why can't winter arrive early and remain winter until spring? Why do we have to have a cold blast and then, sorry winters over until next year. I think the public are still in the mind set of mild winters, so any cold blast will be short lived. I believe we should start thinking of cold winters starting earlier and ending later and this year being the benchmark for winters to come. A cold start, a cold middle and a cold end and then we all look forward to a warm spring!!!!

Yes but we are in a completely different set up ,( weather wise) than in the 90s so at this stage we can start getting excited, because all the signs are there

Can you back up your statement with facts, observations, data or anything concrete please
