  1. Just a good solid winter would be great.. a snow day or two. Anything else a bonus, anything less a disappointment.
  2. Is that Laura Tobin?. a meteorologist too. Tut tut.
  3. James Madden sticking his hat on the Volcano now then... that and sun spots and the state of the seaweed hanging from his shed means its an open and shut case
  4. Yeah, no idea how people are sleepless in Seattle. Nothing to stay up for.
  5. Such easy to understand posts Steve, grounded with case studies. Thank you from a weather newbie/casual.
  6. I hope this is the right place for such a post. Does anyone know of any discussion type podcasts for weather/meteorology? A search just brought up a load of weather forecasts.
  7. Cheers, not the wettest but pretty wet all the same
  8. Where's Plymouth? After living there for five years I can safely say it rains more than anywhere else I've lived. Miss it.
  9. Another beautiful morning driving through Oxon and Wilts. Fog a bit thicker especially noticable looking down at Swindon from the Ridgeway
  10. Gotta say, these mornings are beautiful. Around 7am, driving to work, layers of fog hovering over the fields. It's a sight.
  11. This, all day and night but my 67 mile commute to Swindon would be interesting.
  12. Just snow and plenty of crisp cold days please mother nature
  13. Well I went to Plymouth which was no good for snow but drove up to the moors at days/nights when it was snowing (20 minute drive) and it was like a different world. Awesome place in the middle of the night with snow coming down.
  14. Damn the silver Birch trees looked fine this morning driving to work along the a420.
  15. Bit of a cliche but winter, summer, spring, autumn; whatever your favourite season is better in contrast to those you don't like so much. What gets me is when seasons don't meet my expectations. No snow in winter, no sun in summer, not text book transitions etc.
  16. Mine are in the freezer.. forgot to buy some steriliser.. but nice and early so may not have to move the bin somewhere warm to start it off.. found a ton of sloe bushes too.. first hard frost and I'll be having them.. plenty to keep us warm before the ice age kicks in.
  17. Picked elderberries and blackberries yesterday for wine. South facing bushes are probably over ripe and berries drying out but north facing still to fully ripen and in between was where I took my bounty. This is bucks.
  18. Oh yeah, misread. Thank you. Still very low for August.
  19. http://www.itv.com/news/anglia/2014-08-19/a-taste-of-autumn-some-chilly-days-and-nights/ Just saw this. Supposedly lowest August temperature for Anglia region was -4.5c in 1973. Anyone know anything about how this happened? Google is no help.
  20. Still above twenty indoors but 12 degrees outside. Lovely fresh feeling.
  21. Nice morning.. calm but feeling fresh around town in Leighton Buzzard.
