Snow showers will not develop off the North Sea this weekend. Forecasters have made this clear so it's either this band tomorrow or nothing I'm afraid.

I've been using the radar to try and get a grip on the movement of the front and it does appear as if the precipitation within the front is travelling NNW (as you might expect with a SSE upper flow ahead) however the front itself is moving NNE (ever so slightly east basically as it moves north) so the moral here is probably that whatever is south of you is probably what you will get.
Based on this there is somewhere between 2-8 hours of snow left.
Not so sure on that. Nearly stopped here north leeds n seem as though its moving more WNW. Hope I'm wrong.
York will see a period of moderate to heavy snow within the next hour.

Guys the question is, is this feature going to stay in situ or move towards us! The nae suggests northward movement!. The midlands are getting spoilt! This and tomorrow's, I think we deserve the bonus!!

Anybody any ideas if the snow further south is moving northwards from Sheffield or eastwards?

Guys a few going over the top here. It's a tiny bit of a very light snow patch. Nothing to note. And the main forecasts still expect way to south of here. Hope some of the more exciting posts on here come true though!!

Right that's it from me guys. Absolutely devastated! A non event looks spot on n Hudsons forecast was the hammer on the head. Quoting 'very light, patchy and occasional snow this weekend'. Oh dear.

On that forecast in my opinion it looked very light n patchy over us and she definitely said turning dry Saturday onwards!

Well bbc national weather says it all. A non event for here. I'm sure people in this thread said easterly bringing snow showers-well presenter said snow/showers becoming very light n easing Saturday with a dry weekend!

Snow no longer shown for the Yorkshire region like it was yesterday on BBC weather forecast.
I know. And yet the snow still gets Far East further south. But the west yorks snow shield in full swing!

Bbc still say significant snow for us but don't show it anymore on there maps. It seems to me that they admit defeat but are only slowly backing away from there snowiest originally forecasted.

Poor pics due to mobile phone but here re the cooling towers at work with all the icicles on them. Pics really don't do them justice.
Freezing fog out on Risby Top tonight, visibility down to 5-8m. As bad as I've seen it around Scunny for a few years.
Current temperature for scunny is -6.7 with a dew point of -7.2.

What is really strange is jay wyn on bbc 24 latest update still confidently shows the snow moving over n stalling sat. They must have different data because they must have seen gfs n nae surely?

Mat Taylor even said 'expect to see the amber warnings pushed further east and south' too!! Am I going crazy....

Everybody on here seriously now do you see why I get so frustrated! Bbc forecast above-fantastic and itv calendar weather just promised us blizzards drifting and 25cm on the tops on Friday for the whole region!! Both forecasts were bullish and full of it. So now if this doesn't happen how can one say not to be disappointed! We never see forecaster saying what thy just said on calendar n bbc!!! Do thy have other data!?

Did any of you guys see the latest bbc forecast on 1 at 10.30! Someone's going to have egg on there face but who?? Sniw moving erratically east over us stalling on Saturday with the likely hood of the amber warning being extended further east and south!! Which info are they getting this from! Surely they've seen the latest gfs nae before they put this out! That forecast was perfect for our region- if only!!

I Knw they Dnt get much but things are meant to average out therefore them getting a mega dumping and us nothing isn't exactly averaging out is it. Yes will be nice to see the south west get some. But the chances of these Synoptics showing up again soon are unlikely so would be nice if these so called sliders actually gave us something. The window of snow showers would not be long at all. And remember you folks in the east already have a big covering unlike here!

the charts won't change for the better now. Less chance of anything. Hope it downgrades for west Pennines n midlands too if we're to have nothing.

On the model thread someone put some charts that showed it would bring snow monday and tuesday with strong winds.

Latest bbc news 24 forecast another upgrade! Snow Friday and lasting all night and showed Saturday!

Love that! Same here! The model thread looking good? Try not to read it recently because u get your hopes up n then have them dashed lol so can be quite a stressful experience.
