I'm 100% with you it always seems to happen after charts like "that ecm" and the other day "that gfs" I thought I'd see a wee bit of snow after 24 months roll on warmer weather cold and grey don't cut it rant ovaAnother mediocre event at best, if not nothing.
I'm done with these teases now. Massive downgrade every time for the last 24 hours. Painful is an understatement.
Get the convective season underway, I'm done with this garden path crud now.
Rant over.

Just tuned into bbc week ahead weather was it me or did they show lasts night's very weird

Is this nowI remember a time when the two graphs below would have caused great excitement on this thread, with those temperatures shooting up over the pole.
I also remember a certain Mr Holmes would predict a cold spell about 25 days after a big spike in 30 hpa temperatures....

We should have a hunt for cold thread so if there's good signs and cold prospects in Fantasy land even tho we know they might not verify we can post and talk about it without being shot down all the time

Hi Ba Sorry what is WAAi was just about to ask you this ian. the mean towards the end of week 2 actually show a little upper ridge appearing iceland/greenland and there is a whiff of WAA against the low mean in the greenland locale.
setting this against the low anomoly to our ne slowly sinking s across nw europe and you ave a similar picture to the GEFS. at this stage, i wouldnt say there is any evidence it would be transient or longer lasting. the mean vortex appearing to shrink back to canada but sticking some energy into the northern arm at the same time. now if we have a cut off gricelandic ridge by that time ...........

yes we had that earlier temps are falling a hard frost would do nicely even a good old freezing fog day tomoroNice bit of lamp post watching earlier as a heavy shower produced wet sleety snow flakes lol. Clearing up now and the temperature has fallen sharply. Looking at the radar I think most of the showers over the North sea are dying out.

I share your pain we had distant thunder last night for a while but its just been one big let down bbc weather had something this end for today/afternoon but all gone bit pete tong just cloudy nothingnessWell this small part of Hampshire must be the only part of the country to have remained storm free - few distant rumbles on Thursday night and that's it - even 10 miles west they said it was the storm of the decade. I'm sure our time will come!!
