So is that it then??
Winter isn't over quite yet......
No winter definetely isn't over yet.
But Sundays potential snow is looking 'over'
Hope we see corrections south tomorrow :-)

Latest bbc forecast still had snow for london so not game over just yet
That's not based on the 12z data though.
I expect it to be gone on the BBC1 evening news forecast at 6:25pm
-
how is UKMO good for N london? can't see it.
Me either:
As Steve Murr has just said over on the MOD thread.
"Very poor for the South and SE"
-
Weeks of following/finding the next cold spell = close but no cigar for us weather freaks in the SE
I think a little frustration is acceptable!
Although yesterday was a lifetime in weather terms away from this Sunday, the Meto update and ramp posts got everyone on a high including myself!
Hopefully things change

Good grief, it's getting like the MOD thread in here:

I think a little frustration is acceptable!

UKMO 12z great for the North of this region and has moved things ever so slightly south.
Will it continue....?
-
Ok sledge being put back in she'd
Yes, I like to remain positive but even I can clearly see this isn't looking good.
I think this is a Northern England/Scotland event, the fact the 12z hasn't corrected south is very worrying!
I'll just expect rain I think and then if it snows then a bonus (unlikely)
At least it's the weekend, party Saturday night which I'm looking forward to.
-
The 12z is worse than the 06z for the whole country in general.
By Sunday night into Monday nearly the whole of England would struggle to see snow, let alone just us in the SE.
After reading TEITS posts on the mod thread, I was sure this 12z would upgrade for us.
No chance!
-
Doesn't look like any push south on the 12z
Even marginal for the whole of the midlands on this run
-
Well Phil Avery just now on news24:
"All the way from the London area, through the Midlands up to the north of England - Up to 10cm" (his words)
*make what you will of that
-
yes !
But surprisingly in this forecast he mentioned snow in london
Good news.
Do u know where I can watch it?

BBC London:
"Snow risk warning has been lifted"
"Heavy rain for Sunday"
She said it with such happiness! Huh, whatever.

UK news today!
So what if NE America is getting 2 foot of snow! Couldn't care less.
If the UK had all that land mass to the west of us with no Gulf Stream then we would have had 2ft by now.
Why do we always get compared to America and slag off our own pitiful amounts of snow each time we are compared to them. How comes noone ever compares snow amounts to Russia? Or Sweden? Or Norway?
For a tiny little island on the end of a Gulf Stream stuck right next to a warm Atlantic I think we do pretty well for Snow!
-
Just pinched this from the MOD thread.
Haha... So true
How to draw a Met-Office snow risk map.
Step 1
Get the 2m temperatures
Step 2
Draw a ring around everywhere in UK with temps 2C or below,
Step 3
Get whoever's toddler is currently in the office to colour the picture in
Step 4
Get teenager to post to the web with strict instructions to use the word 'uncertain' in as many places as possible,
Clearly, and obviously, the people at the Met Office have access to children who can colour in better than I can with their £82m annual budget.

I'm still in the meto warning update area for snow - Only Just!
Any further north in future updates and it looks like I'll be seeing Rain Rain Rain
-
Hate this M4 north crap Its not right.. A lot of people live within a mile of it... Like me..
It means nothing at this range tbh.
Things change. Remain positive :-)
-
Interesting post from Fergie in the Model thread. Suggests that NAE output already been modified. Indicating snow even early hours of Sunday with snow line from approx Herts to East Midlands.
Very encouraging!
Snow possible in the early hours of Sunday morning, herts eastwards.
Although I'm dropping my other half to Luton airport at 6am Sunday!!
-
I think the GFS 06z reflects that things can change in output. Looks more favourable on this run, but of course, it doesn't mean it is correct.
But at least a positive which seeing as we are still many hours away could develop in to better outlook.
Yes positive signs from GFS 06z with corrections south.
We just need this to continue into tomorrow now.
-
GFS 6z moves away from the horrible mild sector shown on the GFS00z
Rain turning to snow north of the M4 later Sunday!
All to play for
-
Jeez, the mood in here this morning compared to this time yesterday!
We had ramp posts yesterday, Meto weather warning just been issued. Things were on a high.
The GFS now crushes our dreams within a 24hr period.
I knew the ramp posts yesterday would end in devastation!
Never, ever get excited/ramp outside of +36hrs at the very least
Btw things can and probably will change. NOWCAST
-
Fergie just posted this on Twitter obviously with disclaimer but risk is there.
Very nice.
Fingers and toes crossed that those graphics are still being used Sunday night
-
Well the GFS 18z has rain for everyone south of Yorkshire Sunday/Monday.
Really hope this is wrong!
-
Strange, settling here now on cars, and some on the ground!
Nice :-)
Just raining here
