  1. This is GREAT for finding planes ( You can actually track em on there then lookoutside and see them as they pass. ) http://planefinder.net/
  2. Yeah man, I noticed the storm yesterday when clicking through the models. Friday could be just as bad ( if not worse ) for some areas.
  3. By that. I mean. West Ireland is in there somewhere!
  4. http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/orthographic=347.19,55.32,1306 Click "Earth" and then click the forward arrow in "Control". Ireland might as well get some wind farms
  5. Ah, Probably about right then. Edit: Tbh, Its probably close enough... Travellers warned as the day progresses essentially. Lynxus's tips for survival tomorrow: 1- Stay away from exposed coasts. 2- Stay away from rivers, streams. 3- No hiding under trees, sheets of metal or open air razor blade factories. 4- Slow down on motorways when its raining ( duh! ? ) 5- Dont die. 5.1- Figured id say it.. No SWIMMING IN THE ATLANTIC OCEAN UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! ( Even then id say, erm.. Stay on dry land.. )
  6. Erm. 100mph winds... Check. Mention of hurricane from VERY respected establishments,( Cough.. NOAA.. Cough.. Erm. Did I cough early? ).... Check. I can see we have a N/S devide bunch of BS going on here, Lets stop now. Unless you are smack bang in the middle of the UK in a ditch. You will certainly see some very gusty and possibly sustained winds. The South, West, NW, NE, Hell pretty much ANY exposed area will see 80mph+ wind gusts over the next 64+ hours. The western side of Ireland are about to get one hell of a kick in, and again on friday. Same goes for the south , NW and NE of Scotland. Now.. Does anyone have anything half constructive to say?.
  7. Wow. Simply wow. 924mb! ? brb gonna go nail some stuff down. Along with meteogroups warnings and graphics.... Damn skippy!
  8. So yeah.. To be honest. Up north. This could easily be classed as a Category 2 hurricane if it were in the states.
  9. Ok, What the? 936mb ? http://geography.about.com/od/lists/a/hurrcategories.htm I know this is going to be quite powerful, But this could be classed as a Category 1 or Cat2 hurricane (* If we technically were allowed them )
  10. Well, By 6pm tonight we should see it clearly formed out in the west. The next few hours are critical to where, how hard and how wet it hits. Looks like it will track fairly far north, so the strongest of winds will be in Ireland, western england and esp up north , scotland etc. I personally would not like to be on any western ( Esp north western edges of the UK. ) Initially we can see the problems highlighted here: Highlighting the West & South as potential issue hotspots. We then see the wind problems transferring east and affecting the eastern coasts Finally really causing issues in the far north. Rain to me looking like a possible problem for Wales / Western england with already soaked ground and very high river levels ( Severn is almost breaking banks at the moment.. heavy rain in wales could see problems for this river. ) Same goes for Devon, Cornwall etc. 12hr rainfall: This could also fall as snow to higher levels later on in the game ( Xmas eve , Xmas day ) and possibly to lower levels in heavy bursts. But this will likely to be mostly a "upper hills" issue. All in all, At the moment. Major to Severe wind damage possible. Fair amounts of rain with some possible thunder thrown in for good measure, turning increasingly to snow on higher ground 1000ft+ Warning areas id suggest were: All western and south coasts ( especially - west/south wales, west scotland , west/south ireland ) With the dangers transferring to the north and northeastern areas. Risks of flooding for the southwest and west of the country and possible issues with snow / blizzards on very high ground. Just My 2cents.
  11. Yep, Can see a few sferics appearing from it too. Hold your hats. Could be some lovely looking skies from that.
  12. Xmas day itself looks like it might be ok. Xmas eve however.. Looks a lil breezy
  13. Nice line here appearing. I suspect some hail in that. Probably quite gusty too.
  14. Torro got a nice warning out: TORNADO WATCH 2013/007 A TORRO TORNADO WATCH has been issued at 10:10GMT on Saturday 21st December 2013 Valid from/until: 10:10 - 22:00GMT on Saturday 21st December 2013 for the following regions Parts of (see map) TORNADO WATCH S Eire Wales IoM Much of England THREATS Tornadoes; wind gusts to 65mph; hail 10-15mm diamter; CG lightning DISCUSSION An unstable west-southwestely flow exists across much of the area now, although the south-eastern portion is currently being influeced by a waving frontal system. This feature will move away to the north-east early this afternoon. Following on, a marked trough/comma cloud feature will move in from the west, and appears to be the prime focus for any severe weather. Backed winds ahead of this second featured will enhance low-level vorticity/shear, whilst deep lifting will support an area of convection/thunderstorms. Deep layer shear will mean organised storms are possible, perhaps including supercells, although a cluster of activity, perhaps with a quasi-linear element, will be more likely. The current convective activity close to NW England should move away soon, with the trough then following through later morning and this afternoon/early evening. The main threat will be strong wind gusts, but a few tornadoes are possible too, especially close to the top end of the trough, where surface flow will be most backed. This looks to be from S Eire through Wales and into N England. However, the risk area has been extended south too, as some models depict convection further south. 15. Wow, theres going to be some flooding down the SW today! Those echos are very strong!
  16. Its been annoyingly quiet here. Ive managed to see a few flashes and a few rumbles but I can count em on one hand. Storms tend to go around me here when they come from the South and Southwest. I have a feeling the valley does something just for it to "pep" up as it leaves the valley missing, glos and chelt. When we get a storm, Its normally good. But we have had minimal this year ( infact we have had hardly any rain at all. )
  17. ? Lol? I give up already haha. Either way, Its a storm from above, You should be able to see the clouds and the lightning.. ( You cant see the ground )
  18. Annoyingly, the video on youtube seems to be completely different to what original.. Trying to get it to be the same.. Either way. No hills. its all clouds lol
  19. Hi guys, A friend of mine has sent me this lovely video of a storm from about 20miles away. The storm is around 10 miles wide. You can see the lightning from above in this video too. Must of been a great sight from below. ( better video ) Storm1.MOV
  20. :shakesfist: at the sky! Altho, just had a flash and thunder.. Still. Nothing compared by the looks of things. Edit: Well, That was fun? Did have some heavy rain in the end ( lasted 20 seconds maybe ) Had two flashes.. Must of been IC though.. Just more damp and humid now lol
  21. Gone very quite here... Shield is holding well however with PPn appearing to my east as normal and PPN to my west vanishing. Dont think ive ever seen skies this wild before. VERY fast moving in all directions at the moment. Still no rain.
