Awaiting the 06z GFS now, but the last couple of runs seem to be offering a bit more hope? GFS seems to be suggesting storms might get going on Monday evening moving up from the south west across across Wales, West Midlands, NW and N England. Still a long way to go but I'm feeling a little more encouraged by the recent outputs.

I can tell you now, This is almost guaranteed as i am on holiday in the east of the UK. Whenever I'm  on holiday, storms move up from the SW.

    THREATS

Hail to 20-30mm diamater; wind gusts to 50mph; frequent CG lightning; flash flooding; isolated tornadoes

    SYNOPSIS

A very warm and humid airmass remains across the area, with several short-wave troughs moving WNW across the region throughout today and tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible throughout the period - initially more elevated across parts of the Midlands this morning, but some surface-based storms will form this afternoon too, especially along convergence zones. Several clusters should form, with large hail and strong winds, as well as a risk of flash flooding. Isolated tornadoes are possible along convergence zones.

Overnight, further showers and storms, mainly elevated, will move W across the area, with hail and flash-flooding possible.

Big increase in flashes now, as others report. Easily 30+ per minute at times, so a lot more than detectors show. I'm going to head Hastings direction to get a little closer

yeah, there is a storm NE of gloucester.. Probably at least 1 flash per second. maybe more. Constant rolling thunder..
Yet, it barely even registers on the detectors currently
