Well it was so nice to wake up to a proper winters morning....feels like the first one for a couple of years.....snow still around from last night, a fall of snow this morning and it smelled like Winter( if you know what I mean?)
Here's a few pics from last night ....the wee man got to see " proper" snow which was brill! And inevitably here is the emergency snowman.....just in case it disappeared by morning.
Apologies for the side on view😳

Models suggest the stuff coming in from the west at the moment will make it through to the east coast over the next hour or two, another band probably hitting around 8-9pm and then more around 6am.
Hi LS ...ties in nicely with my local Wunderground weather forecast....
100% snow chance 6-9 pm....and 70% from 3-6am.....would be nice to wake up to a bit more snow tomorrow⛄
Also shows temps rarely getting above 1c for the next wee while and 40-60% snow chance tues/wed/Thursday............sounds like a nice wee cold spell to me, and perhaps more to come later...
All I'm really looking for is a bit of snow for wee Dr(s)No ..to get out in

Hi NL ..apologies for not replying to this soonerDelighted for you all. Is your Mickey visit local or far away? Have spent many days with Young Mr. Northernlights in hospital when he was younger and cannot praise the NHS staff highly enough for all they did for him.
We are very privileged to be able to take him to a place call Give Kids The World in Kissimmee . A wish trip granted to him by a charity called Rays of Sunshine. GKTW is a very humbling place where kids with terminal or life threatening illnesses are treated like Kings or Queens...the whole trip is based on them having a week to enjoy just being a child and, hopefully, forgetting about how unwell they are.
Before my daughter passed away we visited there and had the most wonderful time...and I'm so glad now of the precious memories it gave us.
One of the most spectacular places there is the Castle of Miracles where every wish child has a golden star placed on the ceiling by the Wish Fairy....there's over 110000 stars there now....you wouldn't believe it
And somewhere there will be my wee girls.....the story of GKTW is a remarkable one and if you have time I would say visit their web page and see how it developed from one man, Henri Landwirth when he left Auschwitz after the war and made his way to America....a truly astonishing story...sorry I don't have a link...but just visit givekidstheworld.org if you're interested.
And yes...you're spot on when it comes to the NHS staff.
Apologies guys for rambling...and it's not model related so sorry mods too.

Hello Folks........and a very Happy New Year to all of you.
As promised ....an update.
I thought I would bring you some fantastic news regarding young DR (S)NO.....so happy to let you all know that he is now out of hospital and has managed to spend a settled New Year at home. As much as the whole ITU thing came as a great shock...he has shown amazing fighting spiritto return to his normal happy, cheeky self.
Here's hoping he continues to show this .....a very special Wish Visit was granted for him to see Mickey is coming in a couple of months.
I'd really like to wish you all a very prosperous and above all healthy New Year. In addition, whatever your favourite weather....I hope you get loads of it
⤠You you all.

Hi Folks....hopefully I'll be forgiven this non model related post.
Firstly I just wanted to thank you all for your best wishes for the health of my son. It was very kind of you all.
The wee man has continued to fight off his infection and managed to catch Santa sneak in onto the ward at Midnight on Xmas Eve.....Santa delivers to every kid in the hospital that night!
He continues to improve and the doctors allowed him a few hours off on the Big Day itself...which made our day.
We are very hopeful that he may get out for the New Year....and,if you don't mind, I'd love to keep you updated on his progress.
Doctors advised us today that he really was very, very sick last week but they are impressed with how strong he has been.
So thank you all once again

Just wanted to quickly post my Best Wishes for a Happy Christmas to everyone on the thread....been a pretty challenging week with the wee man on a ventilator but given good festive news as he fought back from his infections and is now out of ITU
So Christmas in hospital but not as bad as I feared....I'm pretty sure Santa still visits there.
Best wishes to all

Launch the Photos app on your iPad.
Find the photo that you'd like to rotate and tap on it to open it.
Tap on the Edit button in the upper right hand corner.
Tap on the crop button in the bottom menu.
Tap on the rotate button — keep tapping it until the photo is rotated the way you'd like.
Tap the Done button.
Hope the next few months are better for you and of course snowy
Cheers Edo.....strange thing is ....it's the correct way round in the photos app, but decides to rotate when I choose it as my pic?

So good to feel some winter like weather these past few days......almost like the weather knew it was December the first.
Had to scrape the car a couple of times......almost as many as the whole of last winter
My feeling is that we are going to see a slow but steady move towards some wintry weather....looking like it might be a bit stormy next week with potential for some good snow for higher elevations.........let's hope for some nice festive weather in a few weeks time.
Nice to be back......didn't realise there was a regional running thru the summer
It's been a tough time personally over the last few months......really hoping for something a bit better come the New Year.
Cheers

Ps....anyone know how to rotate my pic..on an iPad?

Getting some nicer charts in FI but still no support for any cold from longer range models. Let's hope a flip in those will happen over the next few weeks.
In agreement here.....will be content to see the longer term trends and let the building blocks take place. It " feels" different to last year and I think we'll be seeing some great charts in the not so distant future.

I'd really like to experience a winter ...." Like what there was when I was a boy" I seem to remember some absolute stonking winters in the early 80s...though I've no pictures
I recall weeks recurrent heavy ,snowy spells....blizzards...thunder/ lightning and snow together.......huge drifts where we couldn't even get out our back door.....swirling drifts to the roof of the garage....the snowplough getting stuck outside our house cause there was so much snow!!!
So,I'll have a bit of that please..if it's not too much to ask.
To summarise: lots of â„â„..so I can build some of these⛄⛄....I'd rather not have too much of this☔☔
And a repeat of last winter? Well that'll be a pile of💩💩
