Sunny start, heavy rain mid afternoon

I prefer the sunshine

April wasn't, it was above average in sunshine and temperatures.

More leaves are changing colour, the horse chestnut trees are shedding their nuts.

The clouds moved in several different directions through this morning

Another lovely autumn day

I have and I'm still baffled because you made the announcement by resurrecting a months old thread in which no one had made a post in since the end of last year and declaring you hate snow in the middle of summer or end of July when it hasn't snowed for weeks. I don't get it. I could understand if we had weeks of snow or the start of the new season or someone had opened "are you looking forward to the return of snow" but to make it in the midst of summer, I just find it strange. It's almost announced like someone coming out that they are gay.

40 years ago, we didn't have a decent image of Uranus, Neptune, let alone Pluto.

Minimum wise, it looks as though it was the coolest September since 1986.

The CET seems to be on the downward side of the roller coaster.

A beautiful day

Did anyone else notice that the full moon looked two dimensional, but during the total eclipse it looked three dimensional?

Looks like it has gone sub 10C

The last 4 Octobers with years ending in "5" including this one have produced at least one stunning day: 1985, 1995, 2005 and now 2015. What a beautiful day it is.

I did a short time-lapse of the celestial North Pole from Irlam as a trial. I knew I lived under a fairly busy airspace but I didn't realise that busy!
