  1. Cumulus clouds are definitely developing here. Not sure how far the development is going to go but at the mediocris stage.
  2. Well Manchester Airport reported a dewpoint of 18C and a humidity of 88%
  3. Can see blue skies to my SW. Hopefully the high cloud clag will clear.
  4. Just rain here and I get the feeling that's it. Quite a line running from Cumbria to the north of Northern Ireland. That has really developed. It must be frustrating for storm lovers in Wales to see that develop to the north of them.
  5. A cell has exploded to the SE of the Isle of Man. Really is pot luck with these storms.
  6. http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/77298-netweather-expressions-that-annoy-you/?p=2745568
  7. Dark but I'm not expecting much. The main part of the storm is to the east of me.
  8. The really heavy echoes looks like got hit the Manchester area, the east of me.
  9. Interestingly the last TAF given by Manchester Airport says towering cumulus.
  10. Have you ever chased a storm in NW England in your chasing career in this country? Do you know any of your fellow chasers ever chasing storms in this region? I get the feeling what we would consider a decent storm, you would say that was nothing.
  11. I think there would be some from the NW England who would say that the SE England still does better than this region. Thunder has been a rarity over the last few years.
  12. That's because the sun is setting. :lol:Actually can see some altocumulus castellanus towards Manchester.
  13. Clear skies here to the west of Manchester. Saw the cell that tracked up across west Cheshire.
  14. The Fax chart for tomorrow has two long troughs across England and Scotland
  15. Manchester Airport long-TAF: EGCC 220457Z 2206/2312 08009KT 3500 HZ SCT020 BECMG 2206/2209 9999 NSW PROB30 TEMPO 2215/2221 4000 +SHRA TSGR PROB40 TEMPO 2308/2312 3000 TSGR
  16. Here's a heatwave that went bang. Maybe for this week? The 1st August 1999 was a scorcher with temperatures as high as 32.7C at Heathrow Airport. For western areas and parts of the Midlands, it went bang in the afternoon as thunderstorms developed. I remember it being hot sunny morning into early afternoon here. Clouds were developing to the west. By mid afternoon, there was a wall of cloud to the west and the radio was crackling away. By late afternoon, a storm struck and temperatures dropped by about 10C
  17. By all means. I was reading Paul Blight's UKWeatherworld synoptic analysis and he gives it straight. He is not giving much hope that this summer spell will last much longer not through his expert eyes. http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/98680-synoptic-discussion-the-end-of-the-heatwave/page__pid__864717#entry864717
  18. Yes but then again if I had wings and if I didn't have to breathe, I might be able to fly to the moon......
