  1. tell me about it, nothing but drizzle all night radar don't look good for any meaningful ppm reaching here tho
  2. meto update thinks we will see some snow over this side of the woods even got a few symbols for monday now too
  3. just been out for a walk, just really fine drizzle here met has me down for snow from 11- maybe the uppers will start to dig in from then- who knows! at least i have seen some snow although it melted by mid day!
  4. same here just down the road in rubery if it carries on the hills might be sledgeable!
  5. snowing here again too, moderate but flakes are tiny
  6. nothing since about half 8/9 here sugar dusting on the ground but hopefully more to come later on
  7. i think the dps are lower the further east you go because of cloud cover I know sennybridge quite well with having trained up there with the TA- but even with a dp of 0 snow can still settle
  8. looks like its just clipping to the east of you some more to come later on and hopefully you will get a direct hit!
  9. those in telford/shrewsbury area look like to get something in the next half an hour or so judging by the track- looks quite intense too! It looks asif the showers are to cross the majority of the west side of the region too. so it starts
  10. Decided to come out of hibernation for what could be the start of an interesting period of cold weather! Tonight i think some parts of the region could see upto 5-10cms tonight- not exclusive to just the west of the region either. In relation to the ever changing models- I would like to go with the UKMO because it has been consistent with its outputs but this hurricane is really going to cause problems until the track is firmed up. Many cold days to come, now wouldn't it be nice to have some snow to go without it.. Radar and lamppost watching it is!
  11. Do feel for the meto sometimes, if they don't issue warnings they get stick and if they do it's "all for nothing" Understandable frustration but they can only do with what they have Infront of them- something that is chopping and changing with every run.. Which brings me on to the GFS 6z, only managed to have a brief look because I'm at work, but it does look plausible with plenty of snow opportunities throughout the run. Will be interesting to see the ensembles and the 12z suite, personally I don't buy into the high pressure scenario that has been signalled, with entrenched cold over the uk (not as much now but Definatly as the week goes on) I do believe we will see upgrades, unable to post charts as I'm on my phone but it could just get interesting... All to play for me thinks! Now where did I put that ramp...
  12. very jealous! I bet back home (lickey hills) are getting a pasting!! Up here in Manchester, it snows and then melts an hour later!
  13. We are getting the snow, but it just melts on impact, even home in brum they've had a lot more! Elevation being the key
  14. White out here! Crazy heaviest snow I've seen yet
  15. what I mean is- winters in the uk are never the same, always something to keep us interested! Im sure you will see a difference in temps in the coming days as the northerly digs in P.s- Mind putting your location up?
  16. A 50 mile shift east in the track and bingo! One to watch! Dont ya just love winter!?
  17. If this comes off ill be happy, its just a bonus feature, so I wont be too disappointed if it doesn't materialise- Not sure if its a true polar low- as mentioned in the relevant thread the upper air temp don't look cold enough to be a true polar low, could be an interesting night! I for one will be staying awake
  18. Woke up this morning to a covering of snow and to thick snow coming down just got out of uni and it's all gone, must say I'm loosing hope now for lying snow this close to the city centre haha!
  19. Big flakes! Coming down giving a proper covering everywhere, does suggest marginality though from how big the flakes are! Come on hold on
  20. Melted as soon as it settled pretty much, but still bodes well for showers later on Never had thunder snow before so that defiantly a first
  21. a small sharp shower has given me my first covering of snow (albeit 0.1mm) since moving up here for uni! Hopefully it will stick around and allow and more showers to accumulate!
