    If that is the case, what I pitiful cold spell after all the SSW hype! Also, the amount if times I've read 'the main event is still to come' makes me laugh. I just have that horrible feeling this is going the shape of the pear. I so hope I'm wrong though as I want the cold / snow to continue.

    Here in east Berkshire we sat under heavy snow for 3 hours today, loved it. Along with the lighter snow either side it delivered 15cm (usually we get 5cm max). Anything else tonight and Sunday will be a bonus. I really hope those without snow join the party too. Good luck all :-)

    Streamers are hard to forecast, hence not being modelled. In this set up, it's best to watch developments on the radar

    Even though we got 6 inches today, usually we are a snow free zone. I can see you doing well this weekend

    The shift more to the east is a good thing as we may develop a Thames streamer. That always delivers the goods, especially with all the snow in the North Sea

    I know I'm being greedy, but any chance of the snow in Kent / Sussex moving here? It looks like it's trying to on the latest radar. We have 6 inches here and it's about time as we never get decent snowfalls

    I'm surprised they're not quoting 'ice age' in their headline. 3 days goes against the models and conservative for them, so on that basis alone I think we're in for a long cold spell :-)

    Usually we would expect rain from this set up, but with the 528 dam line well below us, I'm guessing it will deliver snow??
