Anyone else in the NW/Pennines hearing what sounds like thunder? but obviously can't be as there's no storms are anywhere around here. Just heard what sounded like a Eurofighter go straight overhead aswell.
Strange a few of those around today, had two lot's or may be the same two twice fly by here this morning.

High of 25 today so far, has gone down since so not sure if we will get higher.
Walked down to the peer today, hubby fishing, dropped off some beer. We had those cool SW when I was walking down. Didn't notice the change while at the peer, nice cooling sea breeze blowing. The walk back was far more uncomfortable, the humidity is up at 74.

I'e got a 6mph ENE breeze. Nonetheless it's already 26C; the southern North Sea must be a tad warmer than it should be...Bring on the -18C uppers!
Since the SW started temp has gone down to 20.4, and still dropping I think. Gusting at around 24 mph.
It' WSW now, totally the wrong direction?

There seems to be a massive cloud explosion happening over my area - we're almost blanketed now. It's really showing up on the cloud radar sequences.....I don't recall this being forecast. All forecasts pointed to a sunny day all day here today?!
http://meteoradar.co.uk/clouds-sun-UK-IrelandI have a south westerly, that defo wasn't forecast,

Temp curently 22.3 my over night low was 19.7 at 6:30 my over night high was 25.6 at 2:41. What the hell made the temp go up?
Only difference was wind turned ESE instead of just east. Was that what it was?
-
Still climbing 24.6 now, guess it's gonna be an uncomfortable night. What the heck is causing this anyway.

blah, just checked the station before bed and the temp has gone up to 23.6.

Doesn't look conclusive enough to be a tornado, from where I am near Buxton there was plenty of scud around but no surface-based rotation seen other than outflow/inflow from the storm itself. The storm-structure itself was too full of shear to have produced anything that side of the cell and the way how it develops on the video looks to my eyes to be more a bank of scud-inflow giving the impression of a tornado.
Personally the area looked quite big, think we would of heard about some major damage even if it was to just tree's and hedgerows by now if it was one. So I find it unlikely, guess we'll find out tomorrow at some point.

What makes it weird is it's all coming out of the storm.
Ah out flow then, it was probably quite windy when it went through.

Watching this now it's like a fog rolling in strange
May be it was in flow, storms sometimes suck the air around them in. If that air is moist it will often form cloud, which is normally referred to as scud.

Still 22.7 here, nearly midnight.
-
Not sure it will be as warm tomorrow wind has been SE all day, but is now easterly.
-
29.7 now, don't think dover will hit 30, unless the official station does or has. Haven't looked.

I'm a bit gutted. It was 29.9C in my garden and it clouded over! By the time it cleared I'd lost over an hour of warming! Now it's 27.2C...
That happened here, but it has since recovered and then some, high now 29.4 not sure if it will get higher, hotest day of the year here.
-
High of 28.9 here so far, what's the UK high right now? I'm guessing around 33 maybe.
Got some ac cas moving in now, doubt it will do anything mind.

Temp up to 27.4 today so far, considering the sea breeze which is lovely, and doing it's job of making it feel nice ad fresh, plus cloud, that is hot. Glad it is not july or august, might have broke the record for UK heat today. Wonder how hot it will get in land.
-
Temp up to 24.3 already here, that's with quite a bit of high cloud sun only just staring to make an appearance.
-
Mean while temp is rising here with whatever that is on radar 22.7 curently, madness.
-
think it's the warm front, temp just shot up 2 degrees, 22 here now. Blimey it's nearly midnight in september and 22 degrees, weird.
-
Talking about rogue showers, there seems to be one on the Kent peninsular now. Not sure if it will make it here or not.
-
Had a high of 25 here.
-
Cloud are looking interesting again, might not mean anything, but we'll see.

It's the king of rain that evaporates as soon as it hits the ground. You can stand outside in it and not get wet
That's what saturday nights drizzle was like here.

He's on the admiralty, the prince of wales is closed and being revamped as part of the harbours regeneration program. From what I understand the breakwater is unsafe and they are not planning on fixing it. I might be wrong on the second part, but I don't expect it to reopen.
Oh he's caught some nice sized mature Makeral while I was there, not sure about since.
