  1. line of anvils/cb's to my north, Stockport, assume only falling as rain, as this thread is too quiet
  2. No 11 my favourite Frosty! that beast, very near, if went to 5th it would be here
  3. Ay in FI, but I was thinking opposite, Sunday and Monday look washed out, flooding issues likely, moves through in day too, and dry nights at least in north Midlands
  4. prefer that chart to similar timed GFS, this looks vile, wind and rain, ECM at least looks dry even if a dirty high
  5. Yes WH, this was one of my favourite events, my snowiest day for years, probably matched by Jan 18th 2013 and 22-24 Mar '13
  6. yes, likely, still autumn now, but Sun and Mon look absolutely washed out for the north midlands, dry Sat night, Sun night and mon night though, may avoid flooding for Midlands at least
  7. 0nly November, but still concerning about the amount of rain due to fall in Midlands area, 'child of nadine' equivalent? Sun to Tues, flood warnings surely to be issued during Monday, sigh, here we go again
  8. getting the right setups too early as well, this would be a vile day, rain and wind, who wants that
  9. not as bad as Stafford, Telford is around 165m asl,
  10. yes, Will and crew will be out with all the snow they will get, rightly so as well, don't blame 'em
  11. lol DWW, I always agree with an Ian B! yes dreading it though, looks a bit wet our neck of the woods and timed for day on Sunday sigh , low after low coming in, but it's only Nov and autumn thank heavens
  12. only high ground I feel though 20 years on, the 20th Anniversary of my snowfest!
  13. Not bad SS, only thing is here I doubt it'll be dry! but much prefer this to channel low, rain and 4°
  14. yes Will! Nick posted that when on ours it was only upto +120, but let's hope Sunday's deluge will move through very early, say 3-7am
  15. find new year is milder still, last white new year here was 1997, '02 was bitter mind you HP inversion, remember it well, RIP Atlantic 252!
  16. You'll find nearer the time that at absolute best, will be hills only,
  17. not saying it will come off, 1 FI ensemble member, but no PV in usual place, no ugly purples to our NW, yet we are still mild! hope it won't be a 'nearly' winter, would rather full on mild than being wet and getting great synoptic setup with no result
  18. Yes all the 12Z models snowless for the south, average temps mostly, mild mon and tues, only snow is showing for hills of the north, low levels maybe Scotland, from Wed to Sun 20th
  19. going back to earlier posts, today GFS got mostly right, and nowhere near as wet as Thursday
  20. Xmas lights day washed out then! miss the good old days, as that is 20th anniversary of the snow dumping for N Midlands
  21. just hope DWW that winds are westerly enough to avoid dreaded Cheshire Gap day, my favourite chart on there is one on far left! although GFS feel are modeling Tuesday's front too far north
  22. Nov is generally too early in the South for cold, best time for cold setups is Mid Dec to Mid Jan, low sun, lowest daylight hours, but this is usually the most westerly period of the year
