  1. What is very interesting as well about that tweet is how important IF states the ICON model is..... And on that note, here's the 18z ICONs take on Thours/Fri/Sat
  2. If the GEM is correct, will be an all-day blizzard on Thursday for virtually all of us!
  3. Definitely an upgrade on the GFS/ICON/UKMO for Thurs/Fri in as much as there seems more snow around the region than previous runs. As others have said, the Meto have also now issued a weather warning for Friday covering everywhere NE of Exeter pretty much. Will be interesting to see how the ECM looks later on to see if its following the same trend.
  4. Seems to be a line of heavier showers moving down from Norwich towards Swindon, much like the Hirlam model showed earlier
  5. Wierd. Think I'll close down my browser and refresh the cache to see if that fixes it.
  6. Seems the Meto web site is still down. It's almost as if they have a sudden increase in visitor numbers for some reason causing it to crash.....
  7. Will be interesting to compare its output with the radar over the next few hours as that slightly heavier precipitation comes across.
  8. Yes, the very light pink areas are definitely just flurries by the look of it! Still, nice to see even that as I didn't think we get even that today! Liked your excellent analysis in the MOD thread btw
  9. Not sure I'm going to get any work done this week! Too busy checking the radar, various model outputs and reading @Bring Back1962-63excellent posts! Snow showers working their way further across our region currently..
  10. Some light flurries here. Hoping there will be some more substantial stuff but I'm not holding my breath! All the warnings seem to skirt round my area, even the one on Weds I'm only just in. Thurs/Fri still up for grabs but I'm not sure we're going to know how that is likely to pan out until it's actually happening!
  11. Wonder if the pub run is finally going to see the GFS stop pushing everything North at the end of the week
  12. True FH! Just gone back through that forecast and if that blizzard happens like that, it will be an epic event!
  13. Comparing that to the 144hr chart, looks to me as the low pressure over Southern England has gone East rather than North
  14. Wednesday looked a good day for the SW peninsula! Unfortunately for my location looks like I will have to wait until Thursday and keep my fingers crossed along with legs, toes and anything else to bring some luck!
  15. Will be interesting to see where the Countryfile forecast sees the snowfall being in the next 3 days. This/Fri will just be for fun as there are various ways it could go by the look of it!
  16. Have to say running through the various short range models that the first part of this week is looking quite good for snow showers / disturbances across the SW peninsula. Unfortunately I live in the far East of our region so that doesn't include me at this point, seem to be in the sweet spot for missing everything!
  17. Certainly glad to see the Metro forecast is still much unchanged so that's a good sign. GFS output is still insistent on bringing it all to an end come Friday evening but ECM seems to have backed off a little from yesterday's run and looks like the snow event on Friday might still happen and the cold hangs on.
  18. So what should have been a buzzing Saturday night in here looking forward to a special week weather wise has been well and truly party pooped by the latest model runs! I'm hoping for some better output in the morning but at least the Meto still seem quite bullish about the cold spell continuing at the moment, and at least my Meto app is still showing snow for Friday!
  19. Adhesives are pretty good these days as long as you clean the surface you are sticking them on first and of course don't use the cheapest one available!
  20. I'm finding it difficult to believe we will see much, if any snow from this setup unless that low-pressure system pushes up from the south at the end of next week. It will undoubtedly be bitterly cold, but mostly dry I think for me (central Southern England). Depending on the wind direction, certain parts of the West Country might see snow showers coming off the sea if they're lucky. Of course, with such cold and down here, more unstable air, things can and will crop up at short notice!
