Evening all. Fairly wild here in West Oxon. I reckon average sustained wind speed must be around 25mph and probably gusting to 50mph at times. Its certainly very loud out there. Fair amount of rain today but has eased off last few hours.

When this squall line passed over it was quite impressive albeit short lived! -
Same here in West Oxon, proper stormy now with really heavy rain and what must be at least 40mph gusts.

Torrential rain here in W. Oxon and wind getting up nicely in last half hour! -
Greeting from West Oxfordshire. Persistent moderate rain for last hour and a half. Leaves everywhere from todays wind so pretty messy out there although fairly calm at the moment. Look forward to how this pans out over the next 12 hours.

I guess my area has quite high uncertainty with regards to snow. Just started rain/sleeting in the last hour though. Will be interesting how this plays out over next 24hrs.

Morning. Just thought I would pop in here seeing as I've spotted a couple of fellow oxfordshire residents. Usually drift between here and the midlands thread Currently snowing in Witney and a thin layer has accumulated on the grass in my garden. So i hear latest guidance suggests tomorrows low has shifted south a bit?

I was only five in 81 but do have some vague memories of decent snow as a kid. The road you are talking about must be the A4260 (passes through Adderbury and Deddington) although I dont drive it very often so dont know about the snow fences. Sounds interesting though!

Hi musician and thanks for the input. I bet everything since 1963 seems tame. Before my time being born in 77 although have seen some great black and white images of it. Who knows but maybe the next few weeks will be just as memorable.

To be honest I never know whether we fall into South Midlands or North Central South regions. Perhaps we need our own thread?! As you allude to neither of the current threads seem to contain many people from our neck of the woods. I started following you on twitter last night actually, funny coincidence! We still have a lot of ice and a bit of snow on the ground so any further snow will settle readily. I have a feeling we could do quite well out of this. All the best.

Live in West Oxfordshire so not quite cotswolds but near! Hope to see a good dumping from this. Had 6cm the other day so cant comlain so far. From a purely selfish point of view would like a slight shift east which may happen over next 24 hrs. Good news is the majority of people will do well out of this. First post by the way so hello to everyone. Any other Oxfordshire folk on here? Cheers
