    I would love nothing more than the chance to turn on the heating as to the cold outside but as yet those conditions have eluded me. So no.

    I think I've had more early morning mist and fog this September than I had the whole of Autumn/Winter last year!

    The CFS was showing lots of blocking and a cold DJF with much snow until it flipped in October and started to back off the idea. Worth looking at but not depending on.

    Yeah, the cool mornings and evenings are hitting the mark, it's just the bit in-between! Brilliant for taking the dogs for a walk just before the sun comes up though.

    Had the first nice Autumn morning here at 6 am. It was dry but almost frosty with a lovely mist on the fields. Pretty nippy too at 10 degrees but felt colder. Pity it had to warm up and now it's 19 degrees. I'm looking forward to many, many more of those mornings.

    yes Carinthian. The surprise ones are always the best. The last time I saw any decent snow was in December 2010. Didn't even get any in March 2013 but hopefully this Winter. I think I've been counting down to Christmas since Summer too. When you have children Christmas can be magical, especially if it snows. That's the icing on the cake so to speak. I don't mind a snowless Christmas and winter if it's cold but it does make it that little bit more special.

    Wishing your life away? Jeez, it's a bit of fun. are people not allowed to look forward to a nice snowy Christmas or is that against the rules now? People are already looking forward to next Spring and Summer.....does it really matter that much? There are so many miserable, grumpy people on here. Anyway, let's have the gales. rain, frost, snow, hail......all of it. Autumn is here and Winter's fast approaching......I hope they're long, cold ones.

    Well I'm enjoying the weather! I could cope with June and July, just about. They didn't really feel too warm and we had a little rain thrown in. August is turning out just fine for me at the moment.

    I remember ice on the inside of the windows when I was little. My Mum rarely put the heating on mostly because it had broken down...less efficient then! If we complained it was too cold she told us to put a jumper on and stop being 'nesh' I think that's why I'm probably hardened to the cold now.

    Well for what it's worth I'm 6ft 1 and weigh around 17 stones and get very hot in warm weather...think I need to lose a few pounds
