  1. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/jul/01/early-signs-of-autumn-already-appearing-in-natural-world I saw this in the guardian at the beginning of July. I myself have noticed a lot of fungi while walking early in the morning.

  3. Good. An Autumn thread. A lovely mellow Autumn is in order with morning frosts at some points, some morning mists or fog would suffice. Nice cool temperatures with a little wind and some rain now and then as the days shorten and the sun dips beyond the horizon still leaving it's faint glow behind. The leaves falling from the trees as they change from verdant green to brown, orange, red and yellow and as they pile up on the pathways children on the way to school kick them with glee. This is what I hope for......
  4. After a stormy night (which i slept through most of)...... Temp at 11.44 is 19.4. 90% humidity. 1004.2mb and falling. was expecting a warm muggy day but doesn't feel too bad.
  5. How about renaming to the Autumn/Winter thoughts thread? Surely that would be allowed? Wasn't the Summer thread started at the beginning of April?
  6. Certainly no terrible heat here. Was worried it would be too warm and it's only 24 degrees and overcast so I'm very happy. It could have been a lot, lot warmer.
  7. 24 degrees, overcast with a nice cool breeze keeping temperatures down. 1007Mb and falling.
  8. Yes, I suppose it is, I appreciate beauty and nature. Don't like the warmth though.
  9. 27.3 degrees max here, falling 1014.6Mb. Warm and Sunny. Had a beautiful, almost African sky earlier.
  10. Yep. It's really very, very, silly. And childish.
  11. Too hot is 20+...I suppose I just can't tolerate warmth!Too cold...I've not experienced too cold.
  12. Guys..we must remember that there are all sorts of different reasons why people do have an aversion to heat and humidity and are not as young, fit and healthy as you are through no fault of their own..and yes, the same goes for winter lovers too. Being smug about how much heat you can endure isn't very mature.
  13. Not too bad here at the moment...bit of rain cooling the air and I have several stout fans dotted around the house to combat the oncoming heat...
  14. Lol. That is odd.....she obviously had a problem seeing other peoples point of view and found it strange that some have a preference or opinion..
  15. Hopefully I'll get away with 25-26 degrees which i hate but can cope with...It'll make the cooler/colder weather all the more comforting when it arrives.
  16. Yep. not a heat lover myself so this Spring/Summer has gone well for me too. only transient bouts of heat at the moment which probably won't last too long and it's not that hot so I can cope
  17. Look at this every once in a while.... http://longyearbyen.livecam360.com/flash/main.php ......it's what I do to keep myself sane.
  18. Very true. Lots of different weather lovers get a hard time on here because they don't 'fit in' and don't agree with peoples perceptions of the weather they 'should' like rather than what they 'do' like.
  19. I would agree primarily with Mushy. I can't see any signs of prolonged settled/hot spell nor can I see a huge washout. If I were a heat lover then I'd just be thankful for the warm weather we are having which all in all is a normal, down to earth, British Summer. Nothing amazing, nothing terrible.
  20. Fairly Autumnal feel in the air this morning. Cool at 12.0c. 1008.6mb slowly rising. Dry and slightly overcast.
  21. Yes, I have noticed and I do understand....the darkness is slowly starting to eat into the light although today is quite nice with showers and a cool wind taking the temp down a little.
  22. 19.3 degrees but nice and cool with showers and a fresh wind. 999.1Mb trending downwards.
  23. Autumn appearing early says National Trust..... http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/jul/01/early-signs-of-autumn-already-appearing-in-natural-world
  24. And SOME people hate warm weather.....and SOME people think 19c is too warm (including me). It's called having an opinion and a preference that is different from yours!
