Im really getting miffed at all these people coming on here throwing their toys around and moaning at weather experts. lighten up and enjoy the model watching/discussions.

Same here, I'm doing my cleaning shift tomorrow night instead of 5am Monday, but my boss says it won't happen. HmmmWe live in Upper Parkstone, Poole. We have friends who live in a small cottage by the Quay side on Brownsea Island. I've given them the heads up on this one but they're really not taking it seriously.

Severe storm yes but tornado's - no thanks !

As always I'm really enjoying this forum' especially with Mondays potential. And as I live on the Isle of Wight in a very open valley, I was just wondering what effect my geographic location can have on local conditions during a rare storm event. Ie - small land mass surrounded by water. Anyone fancy giving their two Penny's worth ?. All I know is its gonna be full on here if it does come off !
-
If this did come off then surely it would top the burns day storm of 1990 ?960mb!!?? I like a good storm but that's a tad much!

Well seeing as I live in an open valley on the isle of wight, I'm one of those who Are worrying a bit.

Big thunderstorm just arriving over this way. At long last !

You beat me too it awd. Am I right in thinking that the island could get quite a soaking to end the day ?
-
Same old story really. Does get frustrating when our central region keeps missing out.Well nothing here in hampshire just grey skies all the action must be just to the east of us reading se thread
-
Thought as much. Thanks for confirming though.Nope, just bog standard rain tomorrow morning for you. Some gusty winds tomorrow afternoon around your island, but that's about as exciting as it gets unfortunetly.
-
Not interesting at all for me today. Anything other than rain tomorrow as it passes AWD ?Tomorrow's rainfall most prevalent in the circled area;
10mm - 20mm quite widely in the highlighted area, with perhaps locally higher values. Outside of the highlighted area will see lesser and more inconsequential amounts, broadly speaking 2mm - 8mm.
Northern parts of the region may see hardly anything.
I do expect this rainband to clear Cornwall by 09:30 - 10:30am, and most other areas by lunchtime to leave brighter skies for the afternoon.
Not quite as interesting as today though hey?!
-
Heavy rain now with strong gusts
-
Blimey, gales and heavy rain now. Kicking off !

-
Ladies and gentleman I've just seen a cc lightning strike a couple of miles west of me. And things are looking interesting. For me anyways
