Depressing here on the island ?
Rubbish isn't it. I've pretty much given up now. It's all abit too far west for us I think ?

Hoping this main event dumps a good amount of snow on Portsmouth, So far we must be the only place in the UK which hasn't had a complete covering of snow. Fingers & toes crossed..
Um, no the isle of Wight has been a no show aswell mate.

Nothing whatsoever here on the isle of Wight, despite what the radar might suggest. Going to be another non event again for us.

They need to close the local forecaster down... never right. It’s been very hit and miss on the IOW.. Tommorows snow fall will cheer you up pal
Hope your right mate. I'll believe it when it's falling out the sky though. Even the missus is getting annoyed and she never gets like that over snow chances.?

Local forcast for isle of Wight has given rain tomorrow, and I'm not the slightest bit surprised. Snow (if you can call it that) has been a huge letdown here.
Hurry up summer, done with another year of disappointments ?

thibk it’s all over for sale of Wight chances!! Chilly but Sunny day out and here no signs of any snow at all! Thursday looking marginal now too - gutted!!!
Yep my thoughts too. To think this week will end up snowless for us with such a cold arctic feed seems crazy, but it's not looking very promising. ?

One thing I've learned whilst reading the model thread over the past few winter's -
Follow a select few, and ignore the majority.
It all looks promising next week but until the white stuff is crunching under my feet (being an isle of Wight resident), I'll take it all with a pinch of salt.

Just got to work here on the island. Icey cold and rain. Just not gonna snow for us now. I've all but given up.

Snow forecast for isle of Wight from David@isleofwightweather.
Won't mean much to most on here but he's been spot on with our local forcast over the years.

Tomorrow remains the most likely day that some of us will see falling snow at some point. The 12z Arome model highlights the risk of flurries/light snow showers across our region throughout the day;
As for Sunday, whilst there is a degree of uncertainty and always will be, all 12z data I have seen so far keeps any snowfall for the Midlands northwards.
So, flurry watch it is then!
Isle of Wight snow shield still working then ??

All these snow accumulation maps on the model forum aren't pleasant viewing for an isle of Wight resident. It's been 7 years since we had proper covering ?

Kicking off here now with more cloud to ground lightning, and big rumbles. Happy days !

Looking much more promising here now.
Channel looking lively

Looking at lightning map whilst living on the isle of Wight, frustrating is and understatement right now

Not even a rumble so far here. Very disappointing, and the humidity is unbearable.

A few overhead strikes for me now. Hope it's the start of something !

I'm located central isle of Wight. Seeing a few distance flashes to the east but can't help thinking I'm going to miss the main event.

Sleet in the isle of Wight and blooming cold !

Snow starved IOW is very soggy at the moment, hoping for a blizzard in the next couple of hours .
Tell me about it. If the cold front arrived this morning we'd have a right proper covering by now. My eyes are on next week to be honest
