That map looks pretty good to me, although if the ground manages to freeze before the snow falls I think you could add a bit more red. As it goes though, we are next to the sea, and in that your map is a safe bet for the minimum IMO.

What frustrates me, is that we're always looking 4-5 days ahead.

As soon as any possible snow events get to within 2-3 days away, they start to water down and only a very few get lucky, or it turns out to be a complete non event.

Looking through the various GFS runs, Precipitation charts, uppers etc...there's hardly any agreement what so ever even as early as + 96.

I think the next 24 hours models are all worth taking with the smallest pinch of salt, everything is changing hour by hour, I have no faith in any of them at this present time.

You've echoed my thoughts entirely. Staying cold yes, widespread snow - I doubt it very much.

very cold on the iow too...maybe a isolated snow shower ? Is it showing up on radar?

I'm in Arreton mate, really not holding out any hope for snow on the iow . maybe wrong though.

First post on forum guys. The past week on this topic has been both fascinating and at times amusing to say the least, learned quite a bit too. Anyways this is sort of on topic - current models suggest snow likely for the isle of wight where as latest updates on local weather channels/website suggest the opposite. Any knowledgeable input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
