Hmm, ECM 00zis a bit squeaky bum time for us southerners... (I adore that phrase haha!) I pray it's a wobble!
Are u saying it’s a wobbly squeaky bum?

Just now, CreweCold said:No one’s predicting cold rain on the 10th December. It’s merely what the ECM shows.
It’s the model discussion thread, we’re discussing what the model shows.
I think the relentless ott reactions to every run from some does get boring after a while . The overall picture is still fantastic.

Led up the path again.
Just knew the sensational charts last night would fail.
All those means and black hole anomolies are an utter joke! Waste of time.
Maybe it’s the way you analyse the charts or your expectations that have led you up a path. It’s just weather.

Seems to have picked again here after a less strong spell

Im sure this storm will pack a punch maybe 80 plus somewhere but i think for the majority 70mph will probably be the max nasty yes but im unsure it will warrant a red/amber in most areas. As always time will tell
Perhaps the met office should issue weather warnings after the event then they would always be right .

There's a strange motivation among some posters who are desperate to be the biggest cynics and naysayers about anything that has piqued other members' interest.
Spot on and it gets very boring doesn’t it.

Don't worry I'm sure I see a wheelie bin or two going down the road. It just be a tad breezy here and nothing more at this rate.
Perhaps another thread would suit you better

Some right nonsense on here . Wind speeds drop by a few mph and suddenly the yawn fest comments come out. We are still a good few hours away yet the usual know alls have written it off . Bonkers

What might be helpful then is if people clarify what they mean. The storm has not downgraded at all. What it 'has' done is track a little further south in the model forecasts this morning and, hence, why where you live might not have such intense gusts whilst others further south will have more so i.e. upgrades.
There are so many variables in a storm that won't even form until Thursday, far out at sea. One thing to keep an eye on is the possibility that it will reach maximum intensity off the British coast.
Yes to say the storm has down graded overnight is misleading. It’s going to edge a bit north or south with every run . Just because one runs shows it’s not so bad in one persons location doesn’t mean it’s down graded. Gonna be lively few days here in Newquay I think.

Indeed Blue, for the vast majority it is fun! Having been reading the forum for a decade or so it’s clear that a vast majority would be more than happy with a day or three out in the snow. There’s little unhealthy in that.
I’m pretty sure knocker was having a joke .

No I don’t get why u would bother going on a discussion forum and complain about people discussing a subject. If it’s tomorrow or 300 hours ahead people can discuss it. That’s the idea of the forum . The clue is in the title.

Well quite frankly the chase for cold charts is all part of the fun so those people posting charts, cherry picked or not are free to do so & to those posters I say keep doing what you're doing, you make this thread a fun place to be.
Spot on if u don’t like it then leave

I guess the met long rang forecast goes on what the models show. The models did show cold and now show mild. Not sure what’s so confusing.

I think this forum will be very quiet over the next 3-4 weeks. My god the last few days has been incredibly frustrating and I do sometimes wonder why we bother.
Have a great Christmas and a happy new year everyone- really enjoy reading all the contributions.
Not sure anyone can say a whole month can be written off.

I'll never understand this. Christmas day is on Saturday and we've only just found out what's happening on Wednesday/Thursday. Why do people even then look at something 3 weeks away.
U tend to find it’s usually the same people too.

I am looking for snow.
All I see is rain and then when the cold does arrive, it is not cold enough for a snowy easterly - mainly dry, before it potentially turns mild again.
Not exactly narnia.
Perhaps u need to move countries or lower expectations. Compare these Synoptics to previous borefest years then u might appreciate the interest shown by others
