    Looking good for the first 30C of the year tomorrow. Conditions look right for that to be achieved. That’ll be another box ticked off! Never feels like summer has kicked off until we see a 30 somewhere!

    GEM looking very good for prolonging heat. Let’s see if ECM agrees because GFS looks too keen to sweep away the heat. The 144 mean, however, is better than the op.

    I think any decent summer should have at least a couple of days reaching 90F along with other extended warm spells. It seems that even in poorer summers, achieving 90F is the norm these days.

    It’s certainly a very settled and dry run although those on the east coast may be less happy. Nothing especially hot by the looks of things (30c plus).

    We will probably squeeze out a 30c still. But I think we will have to wait for any proper heat.

    A drop of 5-7C at the 120 / 144 is a huge downgrade in terms of temps. For the SE anyway.

    Huge downgrade from last night in terms of heat. ECM in particular from potential mid 30s to high 20s at best.

    I actually quite liked the parched look, although I wouldn’t want to see it all the time as I would miss the green landscape. Today’s weather is the worst combination if you don’t want to see parched ground - strong sunshine and a drying wind.

    The ECM won’t decide anything! It’s a model! GEM looking good out to 144.

    UKMO looks very good still and in the shorter term the GFS is warmer than its last run.

    Lovely day with lots of sunshine. Bit chilly early on as I suspect it will be later.

    Interesting further into FI, the Greenland high just vanishes and we are back to HP to the east - almost like it just got teleported there. As Frosty mentioned deep FI so not to be taken seriously!

    I’m just watching the GFS unfold for entertainment value. It just doesn’t look realistic to me.
