Morn all, a nice covering here, circa 4-5 inches just looking out, still snowing lightly being blown around in the strong wind.

Not a flake here yet, glad the rest of you further down South are getting some action!! Reckon we may get lucky later on depending how far North it pushes, just hope it doesn't run out of steam by the time it gets here!!!

I need to invest in a mini weather station!!
Im tucked down in the valley in Stroud and it feels bitter out there, my crappy thermometer is reading -1 but I’m sure it wrong lol.
I have an old Oregon station that is slowly falling to bits, but it still works ok.

Moving away from away from the snow for a moment, it’s already down to 0.7°C here so I bet it’s already well below freezing in places.
-0.7C here and going off nicely.

With the wind forecast I suspect that drifting could be an issue where it snows, should be some great drifts to be seen if that's the case. Am not bothering to put the snow plough on here as dont think it'll be needed and if I do fit it I will only go and Jinx it and we dont want that!!!

A very nice photo and a good example of Ac Und.
Yes lovely, was surreal to see it. The wind direction was in line with the cloud streets/bars which I couldn't fathom out as am used to seeing clouds like this up in Scotland across wind (Lea wave trains which look identical) so it was a new one on me! But very lucky to see it.

Yes, I saw them when I took the dogs out. Not sure what caused them, almost like a lea wave train only they were upwind/down wind as opposed to cross wind (which one would expect of a lea wave train) I did wonder if the upper air was at 90 degrees to the lower, which could cause it.

A lot of Cu cycling here, a refreshing change instead of the blue, decent breeze too so very pleasant out and about! Desperately need some rain here, crops are starting to burn up and die.
-
Cu readily building here, a nice sight instead of the constant blue we've been having, not sure if anything will come of it mind but convection is occurring.

Sun has been out here for the last couple of hours, serious amount of convection going on, especially to my West, seems like a line/cloud street with huge billowing tops to it all, base is very dark, very warm and humid. Looks a darn sight more convective here now than it did at anytime yesterday.
Just looked on Sat24 and it is very evident where the mouth of the Seven is, a large line of cloud orientated NNE to WSW

Torrential rain and plenty of T&L, I was amazed how little Lightning actually showed on lightning maps, I had an empty rain gauge at 4pm today and checked it just now and have had 36mm so far. Went out and chased for an hour, Stow on the World, that storm seemed to drift over towards Cheltenham/Gloucester way so we came home, it was still flashing away 10 mins ago. The roads were horrendous where heavier rain was encountered.

Went to a pub locally to see a friend at Lechlade, severe rain on the way and a few flashes, we had supper and then decided to chase for an hour or two, ended up going to Stow on The World and then back towards Northleach, so much lightning that didn't show on lightning maps, torrential rain but very few forked lightning, it mostly seemed to be cloud to cloud, the cell we were in/following seemed to drift Chelt/Gloucester way and having just arrived back home we could still see it flashing away to the North of us, I emptied the rain gauge at 4pm here and currently it is at 36mm.
There seemed to be no real organization to the storm, with flashes here there and everywhere and then seemed to die and a fresh lightshow would start in a different direction, not easy this chasing lark and driving conditions were interesting!
