    Great snow shower this morning. Not settling in town but lovely to see. Probably the only proper snow we'll see this winter!

    Some snow showers in Sheffield and just had a huge hail storm, but nothing really settling. Any bigger showers tonight forecast? The convection off the Irish sea has been rubbish. Colder uppers have arrived now too

    Yeah it's a shame there's a big gap, thought with the cold uppers the Irish sea would be a machine for us. As you say hopefully a trough or two overnight. Would be nice to wake up to a covering

    Snow shower just passing over Sheffield now. Luckily I'm visiting my parents after work so just got up to crosspool! First flakes of the winter really! Need showers tonight though, radar looks empty after this for the moment

    Just had the squall line through here! Very intense. Also it was some cold front! Check your weather stations, mines halved in temperature from 12.5c to 6.6c in about 30 mins! At least it's been an exciting weather day finally in this boring winter!

    Crazy wet day/24 hours. Over 50mm since midday yesterday. Very cold day too, max was actually at midnight last night, not really been above 5c all day. What's the record for an October day? We must have beaten the rainfall total

    A poor forecast though for most of us today, very wrong. Spine of the country Eastward was under a weather warning for 30mm today but radar showed it had cleared to the coast by mid morning. Sun was burning my face in the car earlier!
