  1. Wind has gone mental in the last 5 mins, can hear stuff flying around outside! brrr its just started to blow the cat flap open!!! might go take a look if i aint back in 5 mins i will be sat on the needles!!!
  2. well it`s about 25.5c in the model thread!! I think Nw has been playing with the members list Steve murr is now Ian Brown, T.E.I.T.S is now steve Murr, Ian Brown is now BFTP. whats going on? amazing change in just a few days with the temps, real Autum feel out there, lets hope winter is just around the corner!
  3. what a shame they are not at the same time!! only seen it once and i will never forget it, total whiteout!! Make sure if you are flood prone to sort the sand bags i think there will be some sad sights on the news this week.
  4. I think you have all underestimated the POWER of the PILE!!!! Seen piles last weeks after the event, and can be a real pain in the A**** good luck all
  5. Was just looking over your post and thought wow thats simliar to here, then noticed your elevation!! same as here! often snow events are due to elevation weather you get rain, sleet, wet non settling snow or proper snow and this can be within 50 meters extra elevation. all to 2mtr temps and dew points i guess.
  6. not seen this latest PPn forecast, been snowing here since arond 5pm, only started to settle in the last couple hours alas a covering maybe 2 cms at best. musnt grumble its made everything white again, not looking forward to this finally thawing out, there will be some serious water around.
  7. I thought i was on netbaby.com then!!! its coming!! its coming!!! I can see its cloud!!! YAAAA you have a baby snow flake!! lol nice one cornwall , I know how frustrating it is hearing everyone else in the snow and you have rain.
  8. Yep agree I was involved in restoring power after that event, unbeliable totals within 40 miles! home had 2--3inchs Reading had nearly 12inchs! a big horseshoe round the south. Agree this would more than likely be the last decent snow event for our area for this cold spell. We really need this to happen as well , get some nice warm air up in that greenland area then it can swellup !! Get shot of the chun of PV over canada and i think you could well be right, it has tried many times but got flattened
  9. you will be safe tonight the south east have had snow today!!! By all accounts 14ft has fallen in cnetral London, topping that though Bexleyheath with 14ft 1 inch !! lol
  10. not to far to travel to enjoy it then!! Amazing that the sea can have that much effect isnt it. i would say we have lost maybe 1 inch of what we had but a good 3 to 4 inchs still covering here. but you have minutes in the summer to be on the beach!! we have atleast a 1 hour drive !
  11. Well the Redenham tobbogan run is near perfect , after 2 days of conssitant compacting and training our team is ready. we are into the skelton approach now which is head first laid on a state of the art precision engineered £4.99 plastic sledge!! timings are coming down all the time , starts are getting quicker, need to work on the steering but not to bad, some shaddy manouvers especially to other competitors. the leg grab to over take is the nutz lol Think my boys will have life time memories form this snow event, as i did from the 80`s. And a bonus some S.E members think its a damp squib!!! Epic win!!
  12. was there not a feature progged like this recentlly might have been around t 240, very simliar. I am not saying anything this deep would come off but might be a trend reappearing!!
  13. With all the latest models I think a trend is appearing As always when a change is proged the models go OTT int hat direction only to correct as time moves on, I.e when a clod spell is progged it goes full chat and snow fest then pulls back to the real world and often the outcome in 2 or 3 days. what we are seeing is a massive ramp back to milder conditions and atlantic fed weather, In my opinion i think this Milder spell will be reduced to a few days then another trend direction to look at, my guess ATM is N.e. ties with all info we have and current model out put may well show this in the coming week. Dont be surprised if this milder spell is only a southern/ south west event, maybe half the country.
  14. All forecasts for todayw ere spot on i would say. It is still snowing ! thats around 30 hrs of snow falling here some was very wet and didnt settle but around the 5inchs on the ground, where its blown in its alot deeper! Had a good sesssion sledging this afternoon the piste was soft powder tostart with but soon become compacted and speeds increased and so did the distances! Kids loved it and i am knackered!! Not looking forward to the morning if this freezes, work tomorrow and sunday but should have time PM for some more piste action. P.S made 20 yards stood up on a sledge!!!
  15. totally agree we really need some clear skies to freeze this lot other wise we will pay for it i think. so wet out there , heres hoping good luck all see what the morning brings!!!
  16. Hey Ian .F hows the PPN amounts coming on? Noticed for my are has increased for friday from 12mm to around 15mm, not a major change but an increase. other areas still the same?
  17. now into my 12th hour of snow, got about 1cm of slush with sleet at about 70% snow. Appleshaw! might have a dirve up to the causeway tomorrow bet its thick up there now!!! would have had an inch or 2 if the dewpoints were down a touch. Looking at info 150mtr level and above will be snow at the moment in this area.. really want temps and dewpoints to drop and get this stuff frozen before the propper front arrives!!
  18. not ian ferguson more like Mother Nature you need to have words with Don`t shoot the mesenger!!!!!
  19. is it snowing there wallop? cant work out whats going on here, snowed all day very light now its got colder it has turned to sleet!! got a crunchy white slush on the ground, nothing on cars but grass is white!!!
  20. as reported earlyer started snowing here around 10am and its still going got a covering at best, all unexpected and a nice treat. good luck all main course is yet to come!!
  21. Shhhh dont tell anyone but its snowing here, has been for around 1 hour, very light but its snowing! winter is here, got my hot soup and watching snow fall in front of the wood burner!! ahh blisss
  22. Well what can i say! Never been this close to a potential event to cover such a great area, no point at all in trying to give accumilation totals as local geagraphics will enhance PPN . Anywhere away from cornwall will see snow right accross our reigon to around east hampshire how much ? who knows. Best bit about this event is it should be cold enough for proper snow not the slushy muck we often see, very little thaw , ground nice and cold now. Some will be dissapointed, some will be snowed in, we will know for sure this time in 2 days!!! good luck no wheres my snow shovel!!!
