  1. Now thats the most profesional RAMP i have ever seen , M4 corridor then AGAIN lol
  2. For us all John, not your fault it was just an eye opener to what can go wrong at such a short time frame. this must have been 5 years ago at least, Models and the like are great for trends but thats it. the rest is now casting .
  3. All the swings and the like was the start of SACRA because we all thought it was going to happen others belived us and it didnt. most vivid memony was sat at pc on this forum watching radar of a low heading into southern England that would have produced snow, The one and only Mr Holmes was here also and he was predicting it to pass right through southern England , this was within 12 hours. It completely missed the whole U.k and gave Paris one of their biggest snow falls ever. It was that time i realised noting could say what the weather would do , except your eyes and the window and a lampost.
  4. khodds garden will be about - 3.8 lol not sure it will get to -5 or below but could be wrong!!
  5. brb need a bit of study time before i predict, o.k use Khoddds garden as a location, but no cheating khodds
  6. mmm chilly call there Mullers = -7 we need a location really for this to work
  7. come on then Khodds how cold willit be tomorrow night? take a guess and one else want to have a go and we will see who is closest! All a bit of fun , might cheer up some who are expecting more than thats predicted! pick a weather station in the south/ south west
  8. Thats why i did not say Never, I said dont expect to much from this event! real hit and miss, and the set up is marginal to say the least. especially for anyone west of London, this is my opinion and i am often wrong !!!
  9. dont get ya hopes up for anything down here from this set up, i really think it will be blink and you miss it, this front is diminishing all the time as it moves down across the country. By the time it gets here no more than a few flakes, I think. we need a good cold spell first get the gound temp down a bit have some decent cold air above then have some PPN.
  10. WTF is a cricket splint? a splint for crickets? and it is the one and only STOXS but dont shout to loud really dont need the PR at the mo lol
  11. be aware that after dark you will more than likely have other visitors to your feeding stations= RATS It won`t take long for the rodents to find any left over feed, never leave any feeding trays with food in on the ground overnight you will soon be over run with them. Trust me a duck is nothing compared to a proud springer with a live rat in it`s gob, sat at your feet!!
  12. might just be hitting the 1 inch mark here thought the end was in sight but it just keeps intensifying just to the north of here. don`t think i will reach the 2 inchs we had last saturday but you never know. looking like a heafty shower heading accross norfolk/ from the wash area. it will be nice to look out the window in the morning
  13. real interesting radar watching tonight the Precipitation just keeps intensifying, all around our area, you just don`t know where it will kick off next. There is a real feed off the north west around amnchester down to birmingham that is turning into some real heavy falls. don`t think it will make it to our area but looks good for the cotswolds and dorset.
  14. hey flyer, any chance of getting that flying machine going and shift this shield? unreal latest radar images with my location in perfect view and all around is PPN! looking more like it might make here by 10pm
  15. oii you folks in Newbury, switch the snow barrier off!! this is crazy any PPN towards Oxford is splitting either side of us!!!
  16. 0 oc temp- -3oc dew point, nice set for a bit of snow, less marginal than last week by far.
  17. some precipitation heading into southampton at 18.30 seams the PPN is peeping up all around our region at the present time. Any reports on what the PPN is around southampton?
  18. the net weather one ofcourse http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=radar;sess= try this one
  19. hope every one has a lampost and tape measure at the ready! the current 2 week cold spell is still pressing on. If you see a bit of snow tonight or not then please your time will come. areas on the coast are always going to be marginal, thats the peril of living by the sea in the u.k Remember when it`s hot in the summer and you all pop down the beach in the evening all us in land have to travel to ge tto the sea
  20. still lots of uncertanty regard the track of the heavyer PPN tonight. this could be a few flurries for the main of our area with the larger totals heading to our north west. Nearly impossible to predict the track of this sort of front as it is surgested to head south then swing Sw, where this happens is still unsure. Certainlly high ground NW of our area I,e the cotswolds looking in the money at the moment. North of area I,e Oxford is still looking o.k, If you take a rough line from southampton water upto The wash then west of this line should see some snow, east of this line a few flurries. All down to the lamposts now folks and of course the radar! good luck all
  21. got some real concerns for west of exeter unless you have a decent bit of height. think there will be some moaning friday in these threads!! Not sure where peeps find this info . This event same as last weeks will be marginal in many places, could well be a fine line between rain and no precipitation with a bit of snow in between. The placing of this fine line is down to watching the radar now, not sure with the way this front twists and turns through the country these models will cope. Lamposts at the ready folks!!
  22. this was mentioned in an earlyer post Its due to a flow from the east coliding with the band of PPn. I think, can`t remember what was said now and can`t find where
