  3. thought it was pitures of a had frost!! nice piccies trickey ohh 1k !! only took 5 years LOL OHH I MUST NOT SPAM THE FORUM!
  4. lovely pictures folks nice to see a good few inchs stacking up
  5. How is Reading this evening Optimus? must admit i didn`t find reading comfortable last night but atleast we were warm and dry, steady drive home this morning . Is church hill open yet? cut us off completly yesterday, looked like a motorway services with all the lorries parked up at the top
  6. As we found out around North Hampshire. berkshire yesterday situations like this can change in a second. Tomorrow if you are travelling about even only a few miles make sure you are prepaired for situations to get difficult. Even driving a 4x4 was no gain as i couldn`t get around parked/ abandoned vehicles.
  7. the sea is now warmer than 15 years ago, not by much but 1 or 2 degrees can make situations like this a wash out instead of a white out. I am certain if the right conditions occur then you will se snow even on the island, also with coldconditions and surface temetures so close could well help in any future events,
  8. what do you expect living on a small island surounded by warm water!!! by the way the windging thread is open for business and your posts would be better posted in there.
  9. I was working just north of reading at Chazey Heath, there was no way to get home, the hill down into reading was shut, getting over to pangbourne was nearly impossible. I spent the night at Mapledurham Golf club who were fantastic and if any folks on here are members there please pass on our apreciation. work mates travelling from Reading trying to get home to thatcham took 5.5 hours to do a normal 45min journey. there was 6 inchs of snow at mapledurham, wondefull sight butthe traffic was unreal. by the way i got home safe and well at 9.30am this morning.easy drive home and now got the whole day off paid!! keep safe folks
  10. Looking very border line for the PPN heading up from the south at +75 wednesday evening, until it passes the M4 then turning to snow . Could produce a few cm`s with decent amounts of PPN in it. one to watch i think.
  11. Just looking at the wind direction for tonight and it shows a SW flw from around midnight to about 4am this should send these showers up the M4 corridor for a time before vering to nearly a southerly by 0900hrs, a dusting for many around the severn estuary is possible.
  12. Nice to see, more like Snizzle than snow i would guess. i love that word be nice on the big day if it happens
  13. Hi slinky I think swindon is a bit north for any of these showers to get to you. Unless the wind direction changes to a more southwesterly thn you might get a chance. Best bet is to expect nothing and see what you got in the morning.
  14. no one got any snow from the west in our region then? surprised there isn`t a bit more activity in here, somerset is seeing some nice line of showers coming from the Bristol channel.
  15. anyone interested the showers are being created by the Bristol channel, this streams showrs into a band and sends them further in land than a normal costal regoion, all to do with high water temps water tempeture. The thames streamer happens often when the wind is in an easterly direction and can produce some decent amounts. More detail on this you will have to ask the experts on here. enjoy, peskie showrs are nothing more than a flake or 2 when they get here.
  16. not much use to you all really in the 5mins i was outside we have had Rain, Sleet, Freezing rain and bits of snow. LOL quiet heavy but not really make any contribution to what is lying around.
  17. well i think what i will get will be heading your way, not dure what the coast will do to it between here and you but hey i will go and look should be here now.
  18. Looking at the radar reading is in line with what is coming out of central wales, there seams a nw flow to the band of PPN. there will be showers around i will be surprised if there is any great accumilations out of tonights band.
  19. I am confident if we see any precipitation in the central area then it will be snow, problem is i think this front will breakdown to a few showers before it gets here. I may be wrong but just can`t see it intensifying. Only place it may be sleet/rain is the coast and maybe 10 miles in land good luck
  20. Nice covering today north of Reading, snowed from 10am until about 3pm, turned slowly back to sleet/rain and most had thawed by then. If i can get the image off my phone onto the pc i will post it up , might take until next xmas but i will try.
  21. Sleet on the edge of wet snow around 7pm , first of this winter, won`t be the last i am certain of that.
  22. Well for a chance like this in DECEMBER is something i hanvn`t heard of recentlly so good news. Cold temps and some good frosts will do for pre christmas even better if it last over christmas. A good NE isn`t to bad for us down here especially if the direction sends it accross the thames. Bring it on
  23. you might find your in the center of the LP. give it an hour or 2 then see
  24. CIRENdaz think he might be from Cirencester other than that he makes lots of noise when he`s driving his car!!
  25. nice pictures good to see plenty of snow around the whole country thanks for sharing
