  1. Morning all. A couple of weather warnings I've just noticed for Fife for 6th & 7th March for snow and ice for 48hrs. However, on checking the daily predictions, we will be lucky to achieve a total of 2/3mm over the the 6th and 7th. Cold though, with overnights showing minus temps and daytimes low single figures. Continuing cold until Thursday pm when we quickly rise into double figures. As ever though, subject to change. Today: Usual cloud cover but forecast to brighten up pm. (Also subject to change!)
  2. A bit iffy and cool here today. It is alternating between thick heavy cloud and brilliant sunshine. Can you guess which phase lasts the longest?
  3. A'noon all. Should I really bother posting this? I thought yesterday the cloud was going to shift and it becoming quite a nice afternoon...It didn't! Hey Ho, here you go!
  4. Morning all. Absolutely gutted that I missed the aurora last night...I've never seen one. I switched over to the webcam when Snowlover 2 posted it because I can see Kelty in the distance. Too late though, as we had hazy cloud at that point. The picture that Quinach posted was just breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you Q. Anyhoo, cloudy this morning here but I think it may break up as it has that look about it.
  5. You're welcome to it! Semi bright here today but still a lot of cloud around. Cleared to a nice evening though but feeling chilly.
  6. Morning all. Back to more familiar skies today I'm afraid. Chilly this morning with temp. sitting at 4.7c and a NNE wind.
  7. A'noon! - been busy this morning and what a lovely morning it has been! Feeling as if I'm on a different planet! Some might say I always have been! Getting a wee bit hazy now but hubby out in the garden for the first time this year!
  8. Morning. Nice to see some brightness this morning. Current info on pic.
  9. Moaning! At the risk of my posts becoming too boring (if they aren't already) You can now pick today's comment for yourselves: Rinse and repeat, cut and paste, replicate, recycle, echo, parrot...(I have more)!
  10. Morning folks. Brilliant wall-to-wall blue sky this morning here in my part of Fife and feeling lovely and warm at around 15c. You know I'm just kidding right? It's actually 3.9c, chilly with a NE breeze and socked in with cloud!...(again)
  11. Morning all. Pretty blowy overnight but nothing compared to others. Highest wind gust recorded locally appears to have been 24.2mph. Still blowy but the worst is over I think.
  12. Morning all. Look familiar? Still, I think I would prefer this if tomorrow's warning is correct.
  13. Hello all. Rinse and repeat for me today I'm afraid. 7.6c wind a bit variable 15mph.
  14. Morning all. A bit cooler this morning at 5.1c wind WSW. Even a bit of blue! For how long though one wonders. Gremlins in the weathercams. Sorry.
  15. hellooo...A surprise for some, but I am still breathing! Had a hip op earlier in the Autumn and it has been quite a long road to recovery. Not quite ready for a jog round the park yet but a vast improvement. Hope everyone has been ok? Weather in my part of Fife has been quite dreich to say the least with just the odd day of seeing the sun. So, damp and chilly for most of it.
  16. Morning all. The sun is shining for a change here which makes everything look and feel better. Which is just as well, now that the old garage/workshop has been dismantled. We have a bit of work to do, levelling the site (and then figure out what we are going to do with it!) 13.4c/ NE wind 4mph
  17. Blimey, that's early isn't it? Usually towards the end of September before I hear them here. Dreich morning. Must have been some rain as things are wet outside. 12c. Weathercam pic being a bit obstinate this morning. Will have to go take a look.
  18. Hi KW. Oh I agree that this summer's weather has been for the most part usable. Never was cold, just kinda permagloomish? I am indeed beginning to wonder if there is now some sort of micro climate thing going on here? Very, very dry and cloudy most days. I can see it myself on the Fife webcams too where the likes of St.Andrews has bright sunshine along with a lot of the east coast villages and we are mostly socked in? Wonder if our asl height has anything to do with it? Highest town in Fife and all that? Anyhoo... if you think you are probably going to be devoid of snow (?) this winter...You will not be requiring a loan of my snowblower!! I doubt that it still works anyway!
  19. I wish west central Fife could say the same Q. I will remember this summer as one of perpetual cloud. Day after day the same. Which always started to clear around 4pm but by that time it was cooling. Temps usually hung around the 18c mark but occasionally broke the 20c. Very dry of course, no rain to speak of which has been becoming a pattern in this area for a few years now. The only saving grace for me this year was the lovely week of hot sunshine we all had in July. From the ridiculous cloud to the sublime sunshine you might say! Today however, the sun is shining (just payback for my moaning I suspect!) Dunno if KW agrees as Kirkcaldy is only a few miles away from me? (but what does he know?!)
  20. "Shovel, shovel, toil and trouble" I long for the day when I can tell you guys to suck it up!! I won't just take pictures, I will video it!!
  21. Morning all. Looks better than yesterday at the moment. Don't trust it though as there is an awful lot of heavy cloud around that the webcam isn't showing. Kinda need it to at least be dry today as hubby and son dismantling an old wooden garage/workshop that is way past its best! (kinda like myself!)
