  1. -0.1c/2.8c. Checked back our 24hr records and they revealed that we actually got down to 8.3c at 08.10am which was lower than my first post this morning.
  2. I knew someone else had done this but couldn't remember who! Don't think I've ever experienced anything quite so painful. Lots of bruising appeared now, so I'm afraid this left handed typing will continue for a while yet! I see you went for the full English breakfast though. A break as well as a dislocation! -7.4c/-8.3c here. Not nearly as low as some other places!
  3. Hi guys! Thanks for your concern. Actually, felt quite at home in hospital amongst the 'baw' talk! Mine was a' baw' joint though, completely out of its socket! Had to go through a procedure, after a few x-rays, to re-locate it! Thankfully, they knocked me out for that. Must have been at least 8 straight hours in there. Not long home. Anyhoo, what an event eh? I think easily 30cms out front and 40cms out back! (House shelter.) Currently -2.7c/-4.8c/E/calm.
  4. moaning. not about the snow, we have 30cms at least here. Went out to feed the birds, slipped, and I think I have broken my arm or put my shoulder out! Gawd, the pain! Hospital job unfortunately! -2.7c/-4c.
  5. Dunno where to measure really, as I have varying levels on the ground. Estimating the depth on the bins though, it looks like easily 6/7ins in old money, equating to a good 15cms. Looks gorgeous outside! -3.1c/-3.6c/ENE/6mph/1014mbs. Just started heaving it down again! MY GOD!!! Postie just delivered...and he's wearing shorts!!
  6. GERONIMO !!! Been going 15mins now. Radar sure is deceiving!
  7. Meanwhile...Don't tell me we have the makings of another Fife sandwich being served up?!
  8. We had that after you did I think. ( I was in the middle of preparing tea) I would say it was the heaviest of this 'event' so far. It was heaving down and has deposited a little over a cm.
  9. Dawn? Oh I was up long before that!..The older you get, there's a lot more to erm 'fix' in the mornings!
  10. What's the chances of those shower streams splitting north and south of Fife tonight? If I knew how to place a bet, mine would reflect the expectation of chances being pretty high! Place your virtual bets folks! Don't panic! Touch of reverse psychology! (Beats standing outside in a bikini in this weather!)
  11. Maybe this? Graupel forms when snow in the atmosphere encounters supercooled water. In a process known as accretion, ice crystals form instantly on the outside of the snowflake.
  12. Met yellow warnings didn't materialise for me, so I am NOT confident!!
  13. Morning all. Not too much to report from overnight. Under a blizzardy shower at the moment though. -0.6c/-3.6c/ENE/13mph/1015. Overnight low of -1.4c. What will today bring I wonder? (or not)
  14. Where's the game? Los Angeles? If so, aren't they about 8 hrs behind GMT? So what time will you be watching then? I was just thinking cornflakes and malt
  15. Oh Gawd!! Hubby going for jab tomorrow. He hates needles so it is going to be a long, unsettled, night!!
  16. Temps up a bit just as radar is showing promise. DP quite low though;
  17. Thanks for that... I can assure you that it is now cemented in my brain alongside the other cement!
  18. Every chance I suppose. It's like a bloody honeycomb round these parts. Only thing that gives me confidence is that this house was built in 1890. So I reckon if it was gonna go we would have had problems long before now. No signs of any subsidence at all over the years. We have been here for almost 16 years. Hubby's dad bought it in 1967 so not far off 70 years without any major problems. We did have to replace 2/3 of the roof after the 2010 snow debacle which highlighted problems that we didn't know were there. In those days apparently, slates were laid on top of horse hair, not felt. Which had been gathering and storing moisture over the years, causing it to rot I suppose. Obviously we have fully renovated and refurbished the interior, trying to keep as many of the original features as possible. It has however proved to be a good, substantial family house over the years.
