  1. Tasty pub run coming up one would reckon And YES the Atlantic LP is further south already.
  2. I demand that Sussex gets properly buried this time, then I will invite you back to your home county Nick to join me for some powder snow skiing on the South Downs - LOL
  3. Hold on Gavin, read my post just now, we would be getting a DIRECT easterly flow from a very cold continent so the uppers would not be so critical. I don't think the uppers were that frigid for the Channel Islands on Mon / Tues certainly not as cold as for the mainland and they got buried. Anyway I'm expecting things to shift south..PS: Would be interesting to hear Steve Murr's views on this - is he around? I would have thought these charts would have brought him out of hibernation!!
  4. Where are the precipitation charts for ECM (Icelandic) ? With a direct easterly off a frigid continent we could get a second chance at an epic snowfall even at this stage in March. Great run so far..
  5. Wow - this looks good! Could the South of England become the Channel Islands of earlier this week? - if you know what I mean..
  6. Could be some fun ahead Blizzards over northern hills. Let's hope subsequent runs adjust south as they often do c'mon, c'mon...
  7. Will the Svalbard 1060 HP push / ridge far enough south to force the Atlantic L to disrupt and head SE? Place your bets the race is on.. EDIT: A photo finish?
  8. No disrepect but you always say that mate. And it is Sping so it will tend warmer with time per se.
  9. Again a nice frost for the equinox The Atlantic LP is so close to undercutting just after 144hrs Could there be a nice surprise for the higher parts? Maybe Dartmoor would score this time? Nice run so far with plenty of N blocking in situ throughout Defaults to mild rubbish in FI But always seems to show a very nice tendency for trough disruption and undercut potential Not bad at all from UKMO 144hrs going a bit rubbish but there is a very nice Arctic HP nosing down over Svalbard which should stop things going too dire, we hope. Encouraging - 'here's dreaming of a white Easter' ...
  10. Blimey, I idly clicked on those without reading your post expecting them to be the usual for London and nearly had KITTENS. - LOLHopefully one day when the next Maunder Minimum properly kicks in.
  11. Seems to be more of an undercut on the 06z at the same time If there is the 'usual' adjustment south in time, we could be back in business.. PS: Goes down the tubes in FI though.
  12. Used to live in Prince Albert SK so everything in the UK is very mild even their cold stuff but we have to make allowances! It's quite a bit of fun here really 'cos you never know what's coming next and the good folk on the forums here get very excited if it looks like getting anywhere near to 0 C (Not 0 F note!) - I've caught the bug a bit I must admit having lived in the UK for a while now. Here there's always a case of will it / won't it drama about snow which we never had in PA - it always did!Anyway on the models the UKMO is a big disappointment but probably expected after the downgraded METO medium term outlook today Let's hope the far reaches of GFS FI come off
  13. Splendid FI from 06z GFS after some boring mild wet gunk Now for something much nicer.. Channel Islands Whipeout 2 ? or hopefully S England Whipeout 1 !! Pity it's FI however.
  14. There are some very cold uppers encroaching on the 240hr chart which hopefully will move south if we could see a 264hr chart
  15. Interesting, the LP over the UK seems to be being ejected westwards ahead of some really cold uppers heading our way
  16. Never mind April - the first line of the METO update is enough to bring cheer to most! UK Outlook for Monday 18 Mar 2013 to Wednesday 27 Mar 2013: Unsettled conditions look set to continue with it becoming cold or even very cold for March. Great stuff... PS: Many thanks for your more in depth post above Ian F - more measured than my own ramp by far - LOL
  17. Each to their own I suppose but haven't we had enough drenching over the last 6-9 months? It's pretty much always mild in the UK anyway for probably over 90% of the time which is why most weather enthusiasts hanker after a bit of wintry weather however brief and whatever the date on the calender!March looks like it may deliver just that if we're lucky - but don't worry you'll get oodles & oodles of mild stuff in the near future I'm sure so spare a thought for the poor cold starved masses on Netweather. My main point was also to point out the closeness of potential cold for the UK during the rest of the month - one of us will be happy I hope?
