At around 6.20 I heard about 3 rumbles of thunder - didn't see any lightning but I'm further south in Bucks than the other poster. No rain but it woke the kids up!
The thunder we've just heard was distant, but very deep - must've been nice for someone .
-
Thunder heard to the SW of St. Ives...
-
Some nice lightning and thunder here in Buckinghamshire
Currently?
-
Some promising "twinkles" at the southern end of the map (at last) woohoo!
(P.S. I've never known a thread take over my life as much as this one has recently!)
LOL!

Hot and superbly summer. Could never think of a Sunday roast on a day like this. A BBQ by far takes priority!
Ditto - we'll be firing ours up in about 45 mins

Temp 29.4, falling, DP 17.2, Humidity 48%...

Our Vantage Vue is now at 29.3, after falling from 29.6.
It feels very warm outside now, uncomfortable even. There's more CU around than there was earlier, and we've just seen 4 gliders off to our North circling using thermals...
-
Well according to this.........

28.3c!?!?!?! Do you have an internet station nearby to back that up?
It's our Davis Vantage Vue, which generally correlates pretty well with the METARs produced by RAF Wyton just up the road... Currently climbing to 28.7 .
-
Some small Cu building here now, Temp is 28.3C, Dew Point 18.1C, Humidity 53%...
-
The temp got up to 27.8 here a short while back, now falling slightly again - 27.4C...
Skies are clear, hot and sunny...

Think I will phone Dani up today and let her know to get the troops ready for a 2pm Start, that way we can head towards East Anglia and see if anything can overcome the Cap and if not then head back towards the London area for the possible MCS Monday evening then and point out the possibilities of the earlier day Cap Bust.
Chris Hollins (BBC Breakfast Guy) will be driving the Hire Car with me in the Passenger Seat and 3 Film crew in the back, with Paul M & Arron in the 2nd Vehicle doing the GPS & Live Streaming to Netweather, we also have 2 Way Radio Contact a la USA.
Cant wait - Woohoo

I'll keep a look-out from the West Anglia section of the A14

Looking very dark off towards Ramsey now, rain will hit here in the next couple of mins...
-
Had a torrential downpour about an hour ago, and now another very heavy downpour is in progress.
That one missed us here Ben...

My postcode is pe27. That will show the HUGE cape for Tuesday.
I know StIves had storms then, but I work in Cambridge and were there both times. In fact there's been three, and missed them all. I've not heard thunder since Sept 08.
Yea...
That's just bad luck, I've this week off, and saw (and heard!) two storms on Saturday, and another this afternoon (which had no warning, just a loud, overhead thundercrack!)...
-
Just had a second flash, and loud rumble. Not a patch on the first one though.
