  1. I think there's a fault with that if you mean what was included in your weatherlink software.

Don't panic, I did the same - and many do! - you need the CP210X USB to Serial Converter from here.

Have you had it running on weatherlink?

When I got mine version 5.8 wouldn't recognise Vue and had to download 5.9

At last, it's sorted. Uninstalled, rebooted. Reinstalled, rebooted... Voila! :)

    Very Best Wishes,

    Bob.

  2. It's probably best to get it working with Weatherlink first although you don't have to.

This is the important thing when using weather-display or cumulus - the main alternatives.

You need to make it behave as a 'virtual serial port' - don't select USB even though it is USB [i know]

If you do it wrong it can be resolved but you need download something from Davis.net

I'll find a screenshot of the settings for WD in a bit.

Eek! Guess who had already installed it as USB... I've tried the utility included in the Weatherlink support folder to convert it back from USBXpress mode, but that didn't do anything at all, and failed :(.

    Very Best Wishes,

    Bob.

  3. Certainly the best storm overhead here for a couple of years. It did come from the St Ives area and spotted it on the radar as it manifest itself on the radar over Kimbolton and Grafham water 10 miles east of here but quite localised initially, I began to hear frequent rumbles of thunder about 6.45pm. Radar suggested it was coming directly this way, but it developed as it did so. So we had a good hour of frequent (2-4 strikes per minute at peak) activity, then I thought that was it with a 10 minute interlude, but it back built directly overhead - and thats when the strikes got really close. Real torrential downpours until about 8.45pm, when it eventually cleared westwards... however, most of it still occurred during daylight hours... more of a spectical with regards lightening if it after dark. Nice watching it as it headed off mind.

I'm glad you enjoyed the storm we laid on for you!

  4. just had an awesome storm pass through. first proper on of the year. i watched the cell develop and it exploded just before reaching me. awesome stuff.

i still think round here theres energy build more, so hopefully might get another later on.

When are they supposed to start dying off tonight?

It certainly hasn't exploded in this part of St. Ives, all I can see / hear is a nice storm heading towards St. Neots, producing quiet thunder!. I've not seen any storms here this afternoon. :whistling:

I did see a Tornado heading Northwards in Peterborough earlier though :cray:
