hahaha, this is what we're reduced to... reporting different degrees of drizzle... and praying to random light 0.00005mm rain showers to intensify.   Deary me-  at least its warm out  Â
I must say that since the sun is out the last hour, my cumulus clouds have gone from stomped-on cotton buds, to pastry puffs.  Come on convection you can do it!!!!  (insert-shaking-fist-violently-in-the-air-emoticon)
Lol!

Evening everyone,
Not much happening here, although there are now 'clumps' of AcCas forming...
-
im actually about 20 miles NW of cambridge, and can now actually see quite a menacing cloud coming....
I was just out in the back garden, looking at the approaching dark clouds to the west...
-
currently on a high spot looking to the horizon and can see barely anything. looks like the big stuff is heading to lincolnshire
Hello,
There is a long line approaching us gradually from the west - you'll need to be looking at this for when it gets near.
It is currently to the west of Northampton, running downwards towards the Swindon and Bristol areras...

Right!! I have everything set-up here now:) ( Here we go again lol)Â Â I'm hoping I haven't jinxed it now.
Still really windy and the convection looks a bit messy. But again I am optimistic due to the forecasts looking good for Chelt ( the land of * No Storms*) Lol
Fingers crossed for you!

Thanks, I wish I'd done a longer video, but I was busy looking out the front and back and it kind of crept up on me. I read Harry's post with interest, we have indeed witnessed quite a few of these in this area, so if I see any more in future I'll train the camera on them!.
Look foward to seeing them

Here you go folks video below of the Hythe "supercell". (Part 1 video of slightly earlier
).That is fantastic - well done, and thanks for putting it on here! .

Evening everyone,
I drive for Stagecoach, and earlier I had to take a driver from our depot near St. Ives, to Peterborough.
Running west along the A14, we encountered a storm that had lovely structure. It finally caught us on the A1, giving monsoon like conditions.
There has recently been a lovely storm to my south. Unfortunately, I only have my mobile with me, so have had to upload a few shots to Facebook .

do you you any great places to view the skies? I regularly go to fen drayton nature reserve as you can see for miles in all directions.
Fen Drayton is nice, Fenstanton where I work is good. Anywhere along the road near RAF Wyton is good too

clouds definitely forming nicely here. first thing this morning was hazy cloud. Now there are clear breaks in the cloud, of which the clouds are bulking up. i can feel it forming in the air...
Yep, clouds are building here nicely now :o. It has become quite muggy too.

I heartily agree, the NW Radar is superb, well worth paying for B).

Cheers Paul

They are? I've not seen anything yet, even from a couple of days ago when there were strikes around Yorkshire
-
Hello,
Is there any chance of the Lightning Strikes showing on the V5 radar soon?
-
Hello,
I cannot - indeed haven't been able to see any stations that report lightning, or the lightning itself on the new Radar.
Does the show lightning feature actually work, and if so, how are the strikes shown?
-
I can confirm that the Sferics detection doesn't seem to be working too
-
Quite a few sferics detected from a potent cell around the Cambridgeshire region just over an hour ago. Was part of the group of showers which moved over the Oxfordshire region earlier on this afternoon.
Hello,
I heard a nice long rumble from this storm, at the bus depot at Fenstanton, as I was getting ready to go out in service. We only had heavy rain there.
A few miles to the south east, around the Bourn area, there was much slush in the road, with snow on verges etc...
-
Do you mean the '47'? If yes, then then that is about 4-5 miles north of where I am but by looking at the radar it is getting pasting like we have had for the last couple of hours.
Will be driving to Spalding (about 20 miles to the north and east) at about 10 to pick up my daughter, i'm not sure whether I am looking forward to the drive or not!
No, I mean Stagecoach service 46

An update on how the snow fell this morning in Hampton Peterborough just over the road from MrsF, ... 5.45am frosty and cloudy but no rain or precipitation of any kind over night. Re awoke at 7 to a good dusting but snow had stopped. Started again at approx 7.15ish and hasn't stopped since, along the way some massive flakes possibly the biggest I have seen since the 80's. Wonderful stuff.
Been lurking forever, about time I posted!
BTW, TEITS you are the man!!
Hopefully Hampton won't be too bad for our drivers on the 46 tomorrow...

Morning folks,
It's snowing very nicely here in St. Ives for a change .
I hope, if you like snow, that you'll have a nice amount today .
Take care if you go out to play!
-
Morning everyone,
We also had a dusting here in St. Ives overnight. While driving my 29 and 30 routes yesterday, I saw some lovely CBs producing snow showers off to my North East .

Evening everyone,
There is currently a nice storm between St. Ives and St. Neots, heading westwards.
It is producing thunder, I've not seen lightning yet. It looks lovely though!.
