  13. New updated figures for NW. http://www.unitedutilities.com/Keepingthewaterflowing.htm In the incredible drought of 1995 Haweswater fell to about 15% with Thirlmire at 20%. So a long way to go before 1995 levels are reached

  20. Snow laid on Cross Fell into 3rd week of June in 1996. Further back snow drifts on Cross Fell into July in 1979. 1979 depths were in different league to this winter. Mark
  21. 20.8C sorcho, this warm/hot spell looks to more prolonged than anything last year. Record 3 days in row above 20C last summer, looking good for 4 days at present. Dark cloud justs to the West, shrs this afternoon. Mark
  22. Most damage over winter was caused by starving rabbits. Eating anything above the snow. Stripped bark off the trees, never mind eating any other plants. Biggest threat to our garden are stong winds in the summer months. Mark
  23. Over high ground to the NW. Carn't see Stockton getting any. Mark
  24. 12z fax has the front further yet North again. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack0.gif Could be repeat of the heavy snow in Feb across the Highlands. Could end up 200 miles further than forecast by the Meto just a day ago. Mark
  25. Totally agree could be very memorable event. Combination of strong winds and heavy snow could mean some of the worst conditions of the year in S Scotland/NI over high ground. Combination of strong winds and snow were lacking this winter across most of the UK. Mark
