  1. Wet overnight, drizzle hill fog at present vis <100m.

Feels mucher warmer/humid than yesterday esp now wind has decreased.

Could be one the warmest days of month if the sun comes out here.

    Currently 12.4C, low 9.4C

  2. Only a few glimpses of sun today.

Cloudy with a few shrs in the past hour or so. Dark

    Temp 18.0C

    Max 19.4c

Mostly cloudy yesterday with max of 18.9C.

Appears to a 7c warmer over in Great OONby about 15/20 miles to the West

  3. It was a rather unpleasant day yesterday. Wind/rain comb never good for the garden at this time of year. Carn't have been far off gale force in the evening.

Temp 8.8C fresh very gusty NE Wind drizzle/light rain.

    Teesdale

  4. I've never seen Pennine snow last this late although perhaps some could often be found in a deep north facing gill.

That is still a substantial area to be visible from some distance and right out in the open.

Presumably the great winters of 47 and 63 would have had drifts remaining very late.

Somewhere there must be at least anecdotal evidence of snow surviving until mid-summer.

I would think it not impossible that the Pennines could hold patches until Autumn in a cool summer following a winter with storms which put big drifts in just the right places.

Snow showers in Scotland again today...

Snow laid on Cross Fell into 3rd week of June in 1996. Further back snow drifts on Cross Fell into July in 1979. 1979 depths were in different league to this winter.

  5. 10-15cm is still a memorable fall since it is the 29th March today!! I mean seriously?! :) Some winters didn't have that kind of snow

Totally agree could be very memorable event. Combination of strong winds and heavy snow could mean some of the worst conditions of the year in S Scotland/NI over high ground.

Combination of strong winds and snow were lacking this winter across most of the UK.
