  1. Big downgrade this run. Lets hope its an outlier. Its a short lived topler to my eyes. Not going to bother klooking at the rest of the run but will await the ensembles with interest to see if this has any support (I hope not!)
  2. pressure over Greenland is now building as the pesky short wave moves on. How good are the models at handling these shortwaves? I think the rest of the run can be classed as FI now! Whether we will have an Easterly on Tuesday with snow showers is not going to be nailed on until Sat the way the models are handling things. Lot of nailbiting in the days ahead I feel!
  3. My Gut feeling is that this will be a halfway house between the ECM and the 06z. That troublesome low west of greenland is now 1000mb. Less shortwave action this run though I feel. Fingers crossed, it will still have snow for the SE by Tuesday though
  4. That low looks allot deeper than the 06z. Not sure what difference this could make down the line!?
  5. Height rises don't seem as good in Russia. if the height rise isn't as strong will it allow free western flow of the cold air?
  6. Get yourselves over to Paddy power fellow weather enthusiasts! Just put a bet (£10) on a flurry in London on the big day at 7 to 1. I then got a free £20 bet which I placed on Glasgow at 4 to 1. All in all I stand to make £150 from £10!! effective odds of 15 to 1 ! Not bad looking at the current charts. All I need is a sleet shower or a snow grain to win! Looking forward to the 18z!

  8. Is it still snowing there? Got rain up the road from you in St Evenage I work in ware tho
  9. Turning sleety here now and is fizzling out have nearly 3 inches tho
  10. Whiteout conditions 0.9c and settling on all surfaces 1cm at least so far <_<
  11. V heavy rain here not even a hint of sleet! Gutted as it was snowing at 7pm and since 8 its just rained! Anywhere south and East of here can forget it IMO
  12. Starting to sleet here now abd 2c. Expect pure snow in around 30 mins B)
  13. Starting to peter out now think thats our lot by looking at the radar. Tonights snow has left me confident of at least seeing transitionary snow tommorow night
  14. Propper snow here now looking at the radar it will clear in about half an hour so should be left with a about an inch. Finggers crossed for more tommorow night B)
  15. Whats your current views on tommorow night for East anglia?
  16. Sure you will be ok mate! Slough is in for allot of rain and not much else IMO. Could see sleet down there on the back edge but wouldnt expect much more than that unless the charts change
  17. Hello fellow St Evenage dweller! Fat flakes over in Broadwater could go either way. Think there will be a slushy covering eventualy. Tommorow night looks marginal for us but our 100m or so ASL should help a little. I anticipate that tommorow we will see rain turning to snow before it clears away. I expect about an inch by Tues morning. Keep an eye on the forecasts and Model thread as subtle changes could make a difference betwenn a foot of snow or just lots of puddles and fallen trees!
  18. IMO you will only see rain in London and Oxfordshire until early hours of Tues morning when it will turn to Snow. Only problems around London will be on Tues morning unless flodding becomes an issue
  19. Isn't the system going to pull away to the SE? This would mean rain turning to snow in East Anglia and the SE
  20. It may have cleared from you for now but its about to turn round and give it to us all over again!
  21. If its going further north than forecast then this is good for the SE as it will pivot and push down across us becoming very slow moving mid morning.
  22. You'll get your snow mate just make the most of it! At least this isn't the only snow event of the winter! Plenty more opportunities in the next 5 days
