  4. Cold and Damp sums it up!!! Temp 2 C Pressure 1006 Steady Wind SE 10 mph Occasional Sleet Vis 25 km Overcast Stratus and Nimbo Stratus Slow thaw of lying snow, looks like thats it for now after yesterdays fantastic blizzard B)

  9. Isle of Lewis Another inch of snow overnight. Stratus and Cirro Stratus Calm Temp minus 1 C Vis 10 km Very fine snow falling now and then
  10. Had lots of lovely snow showers with some of the biggest flakes we have seen for ages, with just brief sunny intervals so not much chance of melting A good covering on the ground and the sky says lots more to come
  11. Isle of Lewis The forecast said light scattered snow showers and we have Frequent Heavy Snow Showers (50 pence sized flakes - whooppee) about 2 cm on the ground and not melting showers about every 15 minutes lasting for 20 to 30 minutes

  13. A lovely sunny day up here in the Hebrides Wind east 20 mph Press 1038 falling Temp is a sweltering 7 C Cumulus 25% cover Vis over 23Km and not a snowfake or rain to be seen

  18. West Coast of Isle of Lewis A very active trough went through from the North in the early morning with some very heavy snow indeed. Snow and Hail showers although not as bad (or good!) as yesterdays blizzards Vis 10 km Pressure 1001 falling Wind 20mph gusts to 32 mph Northerly 15 cm of level snow in the croft.

A warmer night last night at only Minus 4 C Heavy snow showers continuing, its seems that with the ocean being warmer than this air mass, it is really throwing up some fantastic CumiloNimbus clouds over the sea. Temp at present +1 degree Press 1002 rising Wind 24 mph gusts to 32 mph, Northerly Vis 15 km We have also had some Thundersnow
  22. Heavy Snow showers on and off during the night, and after a brief pause at breakfast time we are now off again with what looks like a huge row of Cumulo Nimbus rolling down off the Atlantic to the North.

I don't know which planet the met office observer is on in the Stornoway Airport Control Tower but the observations seem to be on a different island to the one I am on
  24. Frequent Blizzards up here in the Western Isles with 5cm of snow even on the beach.
  25. Isle of Lewis Very spectacular Cu Nimb's rolling in from the North. Frequent Blizzards of both hail and snow Drifting Guess their will be no ferries today!
