  1. Knowing this may not happen This chart shows the east coast getting some snow/rain just gone midnight. Around the same time the snow total/cover.
  2. Since when did people knew of the future I may ask? Incase you didn't know last year around this they were in fact "interesting storms" but more like "extreme storms" that were petty much bombing the uk esp Somerset which people's homes were flooded and there were not going to have a Christmas in there own homes. Call that a interesting storm. But you could be right through maybe this storm will be downgraded over time and may just end up like a typical winter storm. This may not be like any of the storms we had last year. We wait and see if it upgrades or downgrades or it might just stay the same
  3. They could surely be on the something there however i think the models are having a hard time due to the patten changes and the so called 'Cold Spell' just after Xmas day so i think a lot of watching is needed.
  4. I had to the bad feeling that if the winter storm does happen the east coast and some areas of the UK are going to get battered HARD. However there is time for downgrades or upgrades it just depends on what you like to be honest. At the moment it will start as the weak nibble LP west of western Ireland and then by the east coast and then a bang on storm.
  5. Hello everyone and welcome! As we go head first into the depths of the start of this winter there seems to be a storm on the semi-reliable (or whatever you want to call it) time-frame. At the moment the strongest winds looks like to hit Scotland and some of the western coasts of England. (According to the gfs 12z run) This is 8 days out through so however because its not in the reliable time frame just yet major changes are expected at the moment becuase i think we know what models like to do. For extreme fans this might be a good storm to check out (if it happens)
  6. I am more shocked about how the ice is doing,it has been doing very well over the past mouth. Again snow is retreating across the Boston area and the states south of new England. However on a positive note a quite a big gain of ice in the Hudson Bay.
  7. Well its goodbye autumn and hello winter What will this winter bring??? Hopefully not a washout like last one please.
  8. A well done to Tony and Ed for their efforts for putting this winter forecast up. A great thank you from me. From the looks of things the coldies have a better hope of seeing a cold/very cold spell this winter.
  9. The Snow Army rolls on west (Well almost anyway) from eastern Europe. While in the US it may be starting to fall back sightly However in all for people who want to see a 'Cold' Spell to a degree, looks like we got more hope this winter then the last one.
  10. Take it all with a pinch of salt guys. Remember last year...When some models were picking up a sightly colder winter back then??? And what happened then? A stormfest winter i tell you all.
  11. Can you please find a image of that please since it no longer works. Snow is slowly starting to build up in Russia/China.
  12. No offence but why is still a summer thread and its not even summer any more?
  13. A recent outlook from the UWF/UKWF for this winter there are saying that it will be a colder then normal winter with Greenland blocking (Not all the time through) http://www.ukweatherforecast.co.uk/uk-winter-201415-weather-forecast-predictions Dont ask why the link doesn't load i have to refresh it loads of times.
  14. Been hearing lately that due to volcanic activity in Iceland that it change or effect our weather. How would it effect the weather?

  17. I heard that the Winter of 2009–10 in the UK was the 100 year event in terms or cold and snow? What about a repeat of 1962–63? We will find soon. Speaking of hopes for winter, how about something I found sometime ago. Will be a good read for some. http://realityweather.eu/chilly-chit-chat-little-ice-age-winter-2014-2015
  18. December has acting like a autumn mouth lately its either mild or stormy or both. (Even thought it is a winter mouth)
  19. Well here we go then the road to winter begins. 3 or 4 Mouths until winter hits the UK. I am guessing it will be a fair winter with some snow and cold and also some mild spells with it. Please do not let it be a 2013/2014 one. (Storm Winter)
  20. So Bárðarbunga could be worse then Krakatoa then? Guessing that Bárðarbunga is going to go boom sooner then of later how serious do you think this could be? Worst case scenario???
