  1. Reckon them brighter echos on radar are going to hit south then parts of West Yorkshire hard in next hour thoughts people?
  2. Maybe another hr of snowfall then we will be in a clearance for a few hours. Not a bad thing as clear skies should bring the temperature right down. Then we are potentially looking at another band moving in later in the night.
  3. I wonder if that heavy precipitation over Lancashire can make it over into our region could be fun and games if it does
  4. Just under a heavier band of precipitation here now coming down heavy but melting on impact.
  5. Well after seeing that look north lunchtime forecast that’s my enthusiasm gone for this spell. Very marginal away from the highest ground. So unless you’re up at the highest elevation I would say we are pretty much done.
  6. More or less stopped now in Huddersfield. I know the amber alert doesn’t start till 3pm but it’s going to have to give it some to warrant that alert now I think. It’s all been abit meh so far. And looking at radar doesn’t fill me with confidence. Guess see what the next few hours brings
  7. Radar looks meh. Has the front moved through quicker than thought. Or is it due to pivot back round later.
  8. I think a very frustrating day ahead for many of us. Been a mix of sleet and light snow here. Roads and pavements are absolutely soaked now. Maybe we will see something later on. But as a few have mentioned already the graphics have changed considerably on the latest weather. I know the amber alert is from 3pm onwards today but I’m sceptical I have to admit.
  9. I’m still hopeful once the heavier precipitation moves on this afternoon it will readily turn back to snow. Was surprised by the rain though.
  10. Well just been outside at work here in Huddersfield and it’s turned to light rain. Temp must have risen or something very strange.
  11. So today is the day how will this all pan out. Few light flurry’s here already but melting on impact on paths and roads again. Hopefully tonight we see the main coarse. Good luck everyone
  12. Yeah I agree. That would be better anyway. After dark lower temps more accumulating snowfall.
  13. Just watched latest bbc weather. Tomorrow morning looks messy with a mixture of sleet & snow. But then into tomorrow afternoon/evening looks when the heavier snowfall moves over the majority of the region.
  14. And the icon trends the low back north. Come on gfs pub run also trend north just to quieten them southerners for an hour or 2 in the mad thread.
  15. I really hope this continues to track further & further south. Some of the smugness in the mad thread is unbelievable. Ah we’ll roll on spring and lighter nights bbqs and beers
  16. They are now calling for an amber warning to be issued for 10cm of snow in the mad thread. Up here we call that t shirt weather lol. Joking aside hope it continues to shift south then watch the melt down in there.
  17. Yeah will laugh if it ends up that far south France gets it all lol. Definitely staying out the mod threat for a few days.
  18. Yeah they are absolutely cocker hoop now it’s shifted south. Looks like it still moves north for a short while Friday morning before shifting back south before dying out.
  19. I hope it doesn’t affect your flight and we’re ever you are travelling hope you have a great time and is slightly warmer then Yorkshire lol
  20. I guess time will tell. But in my opinion this won’t amount to much. But I would be happy to be proved wrong. I have been wrong in the past lol.
  21. Wise words indeed. I think a few will be left disappointed with this upcoming spell. As you say if very marginal for many low lying areas. Even up here in Huddersfield I think we are probably looking at a few slushy deposits. My guess would be 3-5cm up on the higher parts of the region and mainly a slushy covering for most other low lying areas. Certainly can’t see much in the way of heavy falls of snow widely.
