    It’s not about been pushed back. Look at the trend. We are heading colder and the building blocks are there for something much more potent further down the line. We are in a much better position than we have been in recent years. Certainly beats mild westerly winds and Atlantic dross. The polar vortex at the moment is like boxer on the ropes. Just a case of the final knock out punch.

    Well it certainly been a warm one today not looking forward to work tomorrow and Tuesday. Thankfully looking at the models we should be back into normal temps by late Wednesday. Seems like some of the models are lining up a short plume next weekend but a long way off yet. Just hope we don’t end up back in our usual summer after this heatwave. By that I mean wet and unsettled. But until then keep safe everyone and drink plenty of water.

    So after the heat and storms early next week does anyone more knowledgeable than myself want to take a punt on we’re we then go from here. Do we trend unsettled and wet. Or a rebuild of the heat.

    So the big question for me is once this all breaks down on Tuesday into Wednesday with heavy rain we’re do we go from here. Do we trend unsettled for awhile with near normal temps. Or do we see a rebuild of the warmth and heat. Maybe people more knowledgeable than myself may have a better take on things going forward.

    Wow that ukmo and gfs chart is absolutely insane. Just a quick question for the more knowledgeable than myself. Are we looking at a big break down into middle of next week. With lots of rain (of which many of us could do with) or is it just a little blip before the settled warm weather returns.

    Weather for the week ahead is going for max temps of 31c next weekend in the south. So don’t think we will need to worry too much about the 40c the gfs and to an extent the ecm is churning out.

    Wow what a horrible morning looking at the charts. So we have gone from a settled jubilee weekend to possibly washout conditions for many. Looks like Thursday will be the best day of the long weekend. Then unfortunately it’s all down hill from there. Was looking forward to a few days at the coast now I’m not so sure. Don’t you just love the U.K. weather

    Wow what a turn around this evening in the output. I’m surprised how bullish the beeb were earlier regarding it settling down towards the back end of the week. If models are showing similar tomorrow morning expect a monumental climb down from the met again. Looking like the jubilee weekend will be cloudy cool and wet looking at tonight’s output.

    Heavy snow just started here now. Big 50p size flakes. Nice to see. Grass and cars starting to cover. Didn’t expect this after the heavy rain first thing this morning.

    Wow winds are really starting to ramp up here now. Not looking forward to Friday either looks absolutely horrendous on the latest ukmo output. Stay safe everyone

    Just out of interest what is the verification stats like of the gfsp anyone know. The gfs12z looks superb if you like snow and cold but can we really trust any model at the moment. The gfs seems to be flapping around like a fish out of water at the moment.

    Unfortunately that looking more wet than white at 9pm at night. Unless your up near tan hill. Let’s see what the gfs is showing later. Hopefully moves away from a west based NAO set up but let’s see what happens.

    So another warning out for New Year’s Eve. But does sound very much like a snow to rain event never particularly nice. Especially if it leads to freezing rain. Also what has happened in the mod thread today the gfs06z wants to send us into alsorts from snow then into bbq and shorts very weird weather. Anyway enjoy the snow over the next few days folks because it might be awhile till we see anymore.

    well it certainly put some snow down this morning. Unfortunately now temps are starting to rise and we have that drip drip sound. Does look like we could see a sleety mix around New Year’s Eve. But apart from that not really sure of our next snow fix. But if this is all we see this winter it will do me.

    Looking good overnight on the latest bbc lunchtime weather think we could all have a good covering by tomorrow morning I’d say 5cm for parts of west and South Yorkshire fingers crossed

    Looks like that front is breaking up now. Does look like we now might have to keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow night for west and South Yorkshire now. Can’t see much for us tonight now unfortunately. Let’s see if we can fall abit more lucky tomorrow night.
