  2. as is GFS looks like low-mid 30s! with CAPES in the red.. things could change I suppose, low pressure really seems to be squeezing close to the UK on this blast.
  3. I think this forum is going to come alive tomorrow as we look towards Friday.. and then next week looks like ... like high pressure gone crazy?? with CAPE levels to match.. UFO's ?
  4. first two pictures are facing west towards mountain ash, the third photo to the east, Cwmbran.
  5. looking very thundery in SE Wales right now, nothing on the radar but sat 24 does show rapid expansion of cloud.

  11. in South Wales now, looking Westwards, - not expecting any storms really.. but some showers near by none the less I must say, if I wasn't looking at the radar..blitzortung etc,.. I would have guessed that this was a thunderstorm approaching (Blackwood)
  12. https://en.sat24.com/en/gb/visual showing some quite intense clouds building, Eastern Wales- looks like it's waiting to build into something spectacular ,
  13. trying to find some live cameras in Northern Ireland, plenty of the motorways, but I can't see any lightning, anyone have any ?
  14. looks like a cracker of a storm East of Dublin, despite far heavier rain to the North of Dublin
  15. really, an interesting day to come? The skies are very clear despite the rain in places, hoping that it helps to get a big storm somewhere!
  16. Just looking at the convective forecast posted above. Saying about "limited depth" as the inability to produce much lightning. ~ I remember going to Weston Super Mare with my Nan, last decade... there was a very hot summer, infact it may have been a record setter for the driest or hottest summer .. until last year ... may'be it was 2006? Anyway, there were several thunderstorms in the ocean, and a few very big drops of rain pouring on to my head. The clouds were very low, and thin, I had never seen anything like it before, the temperatures may have been hitting around 30 -- Has anyone experienced low isolated clouds that you can almost see blue sky through.. producing lightning ? ..
  17. Moderate amount of CAPE over Wales tomorrow... As for today, it seems bands of cloud developing, probably entirely useless cloud
  18. Odd question.. being so many 100s of miles away, but I wonder if the lightning is distantly visible from cornwall to the Bay of Biscay
  19. that one north of rennes is looking like it should be triggering some sferics, it seems to be the challenger for a big storm right now
