  1. mild is being pushed out slowly - keep a close eye on the gfs models - then monday/tuesday next week back into the freezer with a mega easterly - hope we get a little bit of mild so as to be able to get some supplies in if nothing else!

you don't need to ramp the cold - it's RAMPING ITSELF!!!!!!!!!!

we could start a new ski resort here that's for sure - Pontypridd in Tirol, great virgin snow, fantastic apres ski and the nastiest black run going called the Graigerhorn!drinks.gif

The Graig would make a good Cresta run. laughs....

  2. What about the next few days? I presume it's going to be milder now until the weekend?

The snow front seems to have stalled. And the wind is going back towards an south easterly on the East coast. The warm air may not make it apart from the far south west. I hope it does as it will be chaos if this lot don't melt up here. I well remember winters in the olden days. laughs - when mild were promised and huge dumpings in the West for the mild to never appear. Also noticed a large dumping of something on it's way up across from France. That just may make Wales this evening. I am not sure this is over - the models are squeezing out this mild and not going to thaw today as temperature still below freezing up here in the Rhondda...

  3. It's a shame but all the snow will be gone by Sunday :( Mild weather sweeping in in a few days, could be an Easterly next week again though.

Cannot say I will be sorry to see it gone. We have a foot of drifting snow out there and it is snowing again. So no chance of going out. A short thaw then it is going to get colder again - a repeat in a week or two. Be nice to see the green grass....

  4. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! down with global warming 0h it never existed in the 1st place - just a figment of the governments imagination and tax raising agendas

Weather is cyclic. Them idiots only have to look and they would see. But of course it is a con. And now the government has got in the act that proves it. Just a way to raid your wallet. lol. Now when global warming is shown to be what it is, after a few winters like this, they will find a way to tax us to pay for us to have global warming rotfl...

  5. Anybody that has lived through the winters of the 60's. 70's and 80's could tell peeps this is a common thing then. The mild tried to win, but fails. I see the temps are now being downgraded to lower, and the snow being held out for longer. The models are progged for 'even larger teapot'. Now we have low solar output this will be a regular feature. Back to the past. Global warming is no more. lol...

  7. Still very windy here, lampost throwing a wobbler again though, swirling so fast past the lampost its hard to tell, think it could be sleet, not going out to check this time.

Sky tv not worked all evening, only have tinternet.

How is it down in Mumbles?? anyone local on??

It's snow on the sky dish. If you can reach with a brush make sure you get it off the bit that pokes out the front facing the dish. Will work then....

  8. Looking at the radar the system does seem to have stalled. As has been said all the energy though is still being pumped up towards us - the snow is getting deep here now with lots of drifting already. And with snow falling all night will be an interesting scene in the morning. Could be the worse snowfall since the 80's if it keeps falling...

  9. i wonder if anyone can explain the meto warnings issued today in comparison with last week when from swindon to isle of white and across to brighton was on a red (take action) warning and today with a similar heavy precip approaching us here in wales? it seems to me metoffice are sitting on their hands and are not going to commit untill they can see the weather through their window.

The best way at this stage is to nowcast. Look at the South West thread and that gives reports of precipition and type that is heading our way. And keep checking this thread to see what is happening as the precipitation comes in. Which it is starting to do now...
