South West & Central Southern England Regional Discussion 11/1/2017 ---->
Climate_Eyes replied to A.J's topic in Regional
Light occasional snizzle to light snow here, despite the radar reporting otherwise. A very thin covering of snow overnight, mostly confined to roofs but still beautiful to see. -

Lightning now seen south West of my location. Regular thunder, first spots of rain. -

First couple of distant rumbles heard here in the last few minutes, sky looking ominous. Some Undulatus to my east and a beast of a beautiful, scuddy sunset out west. -

Oh I know! Mind you the last four frames of the radar are more interesting with a decent eruption heading SE, but probably still too far over for us once the eastern componet has been factored in. I'll watch it for a bit to see what happens, besides i've got a drink to finish.. -

This was the small cell now over Sussex, from the western side. Friends in the area report some action but nothing great, however I'd guess those slightly further north might fare ok. Nowt in my location currently, sky relatively clear. Light but fresh breeze. -
Two separate batches of actual snow here today, both obviously very marginal. First around lunchtime, started as graupel before turning to big wet snowflakes, shower lasted approximately fifteen minutes. The second one passed through not long ago, heavier in intensity and bigger than earlier, lasting for a similar length of time . Very nice.

Now i'm used to the new update, i'm liking it. The new Christmas skin is excellent too. Just a couple of small things i've noticed, I have trawled through the entire thread but apologies if i've missed previous solutions. First one is that I keep seeing posts from someone on my ignore list. I tend to use the notification feature a lot (it's a very welcome new addition), but sometimes, though not always, it loads their posts. I can live with it, but wondered if it was specifically down to me using the 'show new replies' feature? My only other tiny gripe is that the time stamp when you hover over the post times are in MM/DD/YYYY format.. it's no biggie, but it's the thin end of the wedge... next thing we'll all be saying y'all.. Only joking. Otherwise, A*. -

Oh ha ha! Do'h With the radar confusion I was none the wiser! Had 3.5 cm's from a short spell on Tuesday morning before it melted, which is more than some poor folk have had all winter put together so mustn't grumble. -

There's some of those in the MOD thread. Sweet! Enjoy. I'm sat in no mans land but the temps are creeping up now here so probably just as well. Anyone know of a decent current dew point map based on obs rather than forecast? -

It's not a real radar anyway, just a kid with three coloured crayons and a map of the UK. -

There's definitely something not right with it today. It randomly loaded yesterday's 12.05 image before reverting back to today's 12.10. I think it's been at the Special Brew. -

I think they do, have a feeling it's a METO feed. Makes it hard for one to know just how dire the snow situation is! Ah - it's now updated.. almost wish it hadn't after all. -

Anyone having radar issues? Mine is stuck on 11:25. -

Snowed from 7am here up until recently, mostly moderate with the odd heavy burst. Total accumulation... 0.0cm's. I suspect had it started maybe an hour prior, then it may have had a head start in laying, but alas it was just a little too marginal by then. Stopped now... i'm almost tempted to go and towel off the grass just in case. -

More westward motion in the last couple of frames. -

Usually ice crystals in suspension. There was a visible parhelion here when I went out for a run this afternoon, typical that I didn't have my phone with me for once. Might get a look in with that small batch if it doesn't fade. There seems to be a sporadic westward correction though, albeit slight. It does seem to be intensifying though (if you can call it that). -

Surprise miniscule dusting overnight followed now by rain, sleet and the odd burst of snow. Still, first snowflakes seen in 2 years, yippeeeeeeee!
