Not long been in, 5 hours walking in this winter wonderland up to the top of Butser hill on the south downs, taking in all the snowy scenes and spotting wildlife (it's fun trying to work out what animal made what tracks in the snow). The snow and wind on the top was incredible, and spiralling, vortex - like drifts were being blown around at the top. A few accumulations of around 4 or 5 feet in one particular spot. Seems like a lot of you had some more snow! 12 pages I have just looked through. Some lovely photos too. Thanks for sharing, I'll see if I can work out how to post photos at some point. We haven't had huge amounts here, probably another centimeter or two today on top of yesterdays, but the sheer fun of watching it in daylight hours, three ice days in a row, strong winds and two days of snow in a row means this is probably my favourite snow event so far. Now off to the pub, then to collapse on the sofa and fall asleep with a drink. Same time next week eh folks?

Lighter snow here, but definitely snow (at present anyway). Popped to the pub for a jar and the way the snow had blown across the flat carpark in wave-like patterns was stunning. 7.5cm's on the flat, no idea on the drifty bits but nothing major. Also, someone endeavoured to post the local parish magazine at some point. That's dedication!

Went for a wander, as the snizzle turned to proper snow. There wasn't much around, maybe a centimetre or two, but whole patches of ground were bare where the snow had been blown away. The wind was incredible, even for here. My footprints had been completely filled in on my return journey. It's now coming down steadily, moderate to heavy and I'm in the warm with half an eye on the drinks cabinet.. Bring it on! P. S nice work IOW'ers!

Yeah I can imagine that's super frustrating It has to be our time soon, surely? Who else is in the no laying snow club? By the way, best of luck to all for the next couple of days. Much as I'd obviously love a bit to remember this spell as more than freezing cold but dry for me, like a lot of others I can't really think of a group of folk who deserve to get buried in snow more than you SW lot (I'm sure someone would disagree though!).

-4dgC here already, dew point got down to - 11.4 last night which is pretty impressive for here. Nothing at all today, yesterday's dusting is long gone. Been sat just a short way south of the streamer for a couple of hours now but it seems to have reached it's southern extent. Fingers are crossed, mind.
