  1. I've enjoyed this spell but feel the same, got unlucky with timing and position both days, sat in the dry slot for almost two hours this afternoon and despite hours of actual precip, some heavy, it just hasn't amounted to any more than a couple of very wet centimetres. But it's fine I'm over it
  2. That is good to know Matt, I think it's a tad confused but aren't we all
  3. Wow! Heaviest yet despite radar having me under the light stuff. Readily settling on all surfaces now.
  4. Guessing the radar is playing silly bu**ers again, where did the big lump of precip over Portsmouth, Southampton and IOW go? Still moderate snow here. 0.7°C dew 0.
  5. Loved looking through the pics from all of you who got good snow yesterday and overnight, it was a really fun system to watch unfold, not to mention frustrating at times. We ended up with a few cm's which has mostly faded and after a wintry mix of rain and sleet we're now having moderate to heavy snow which is, surprisingly, settling a little despite the sog. Temps dropping quickly.
  6. Actual proper snowflakes again and heavy! Not sure for how long but currently the channel is the gift that keeps on giving.
  7. Stopped again here but there's still stuff appearing locally on radar. For what it's worth anyway. Unfortunately my outdoor light is on a timer that went off at 2300 and the switch is in an out-house, meaning I've had to revert to the manual snowcheck method (a torch through the window). The locals either think I'm mad (likely), am attracting doggers (unlikely) or know morse code.
  8. Who doesn't love a ferret right? In other news and after a brief lull, it's only bl**dy snowing again! Bit finer, but coming down well. Seems to have been a decent push in off the channel just east of IOW, which someone mentioned earlier may be the case.
  9. Metaphorical mainly. Just keep mental tabs on weather, booze and ferrets.
  10. I honestly don't know bellanite, to be fair it stopped shortly after my last reply so maybe it's just a bit off, I'm no radar expert but it's certainly not infallible but I wouldn't rule anything out, it's definitely a tad weird this evening!
  11. Yeah this exactly, I usually find the netwx radar (I still use V4 because I'm old) to be pretty accurate, within expected tolerances obviously, but this evening has just broken the mould tbh. Spent hours under positive returns with s*d all and now I'm under nowt it's all go! One for the notebook I suppose!
  12. Still snowing reasonably hard here, despite being in the radar gap now. I don't know what to believe any more, so I'm just sticking with the window. Science.
  13. @*Stormforce~beka* Heaviest of the eve! An actual dusting has occurred! Keep the faith (sorry Jtay stole your catchphrase ) Big flakes too, freaking woot!
  14. Same Beka, been under "precip" for ages now but just nothing falling at ground level, just odd flakes every now and then.
  15. OMG dandruff!! Thank god for Head & Shoulders But seriously though there are quite a few snowflakes now, just very light. Hurrah!
  16. Nothing at all here, just a handful of flakes earlier. At least there's booze though
  17. Well it's all kicking off here, must've had, oooh, 100 flakes now Just not quite enough northward push for my locale. C'monnn!
  18. After an absolute age, there are finally a few flakes blowing in the wind. Might make 0.1cm by 2200
  19. That's impressive! Not sure if snow or if TEITS's seagulls had flown down for a dirty protest My DP has finally gone back to zero.
  20. Hi Singularity, yes it was unexpected as it was only the tinest patch which started off pink then changed to sleet at the penultimate frame before it disappeared. Lasted for around 15 minutes, just tiny flakes but definitely precip rather than blown from trees, and left a (very) light covering . I'm hope anything later will remain at least as wet snow around here.
  21. Tiny flakes but definitely snow blowing about from the tiniest blob on the radar It's not much, but it's a start!
  22. Couple from earlier, the icy fog has finally started to give way but it deposited a decent bit of rime on most of the trees and vegetation. Temp here still at -3.8°C.
  23. I've got a potted Christmas tree in the garden and I must say it looks very happy and healthy out in the frost, tempted to stick some lights on it snd hope for a dusting Temps holding steady at -4.3°C, dew -5
