  1. Light flurry here in east Hampshire, fully formed flakes but a bit scarce. Beautiful to see but it'd take a decades worth for even the most underwhelming snowman.
  2. Temp here has taken a nosedive in the last 15-20 minutes, from a steady 6.2C to 4.8C and falling.
  3. Arrived back to a few small flakes after dark, which was a small improvement on the wind and rain overnight and most of the day. Anyway, even that's an improvement on last year..
  4. I'm *just* north of the south downs (Steyning), plain ol' rain at present.
  5. My tired Monday brain initially interpreted this as 'one of the bouys is on fire!!' and I immediately thought blimey, s*** just got real. Considerably quieter in my part of the country but we also have the eerie yellow and the trees are having a bit of a wave. I'm enjoying the photos and reports, keep them coming!
  6. I'm really in awe of this storm. It's been extremely intense for a decent duration, and it's still going strong here with almost continuous lightning. Similar here with not much rain. One heavy shower earlier on, but light to moderate mainly, or nothing at all. Best I've seen in a long, long while, and I've been reasonably lucky this year.
  7. It's great here, going nuts both east and west with the odd bit thrown in directly overhead, but that stuff to my SE is something else.. It's going absolutely bat s*** crazy over there. Someone's having fun..
  8. The flashes from my south are becoming brighter to me, and more frequent, but there's now stuff separately going off to my SE. Still no thunder YET but really impressive for the distance, as Jtay says.
  9. Blimey, I took my eyes off the radar for an hour only to see it's exploded. Still probably a tad west for my locality but Poole could have some fun, maybe IOW? Still new areas popping up with each radar update.
  10. I'm definitely not in the upset camp, day off in the garden and very hopeful indeed. Wind has picked up here although it might not mean much.
  11. http://www.camsecure.co.uk/torquay_harbour_webcam.html Saw a distant flash on this one few minutes ago. The seagulls are quite entertaining too.
  12. I laid on the front lawn last night after dark watching the stars, enjoying the almost complete absence of breeze. Everything was so silent! Or maybe it's my cold, I don't know. It feels far more humid than it is here today. It's really sticky. I envy folk with their own pools on days like this. Currently 27 dg.
  13. Picking up nicely now, steady rain and long sets of flashes and thunder. Horizontal forked to my W.
  14. Indeed. I wasn't expecting anything much here bar rain tonight as the main flow seemed to be too far east, but there's steady flashes and rumbles to my S not appearing on the radar (Blitzortung keeps crashing my phone so I can't refer to it). I'm guessing Portsmouth or maybe IOW must be having a semi-decent time.
  15. The stillness has been replaced with a fresh light breeze. Big raindrops but not a lot else going on yet. Stepped on a slug. Edit- flash of lightning to my S and a long rumble heard.
  16. Very hazy blue sky here, still a respectable 17C. Hardly any movement in the trees at all.
  17. Moderate rain here and it feels muggy, heard a distant rumble about 25 minutes ago but nothing else going on. Just dull sky. That fresh rain on dry earth petrichor smell is lovely though.
  18. Lovely horizontal forks just to my south and proper thunder now. Paradise.
  19. We had two like that last week from our front garden nest box, very sweet little things. Now that it's getting light, it's harder to see the flashes, but instead the cloud structure is becoming apparent and WOW! Still distant lightning though, no thunder (just birds).
  20. Woke up to see almost continuous flashes to my SW, mesmerising. Slowly drawing closer, even if it's a near miss here it's still a great light show.
