  1. A few years ago my hubby was out in texas on a work trip. Just was general nosing what the weather there was and saw a tornado warning flash up. Panicked, I texted him to be told they were on the way to a shelter. Horrible couple of hours to live though. Thankfully it past where he was. These posts make me realise how lucky we both were that day.
  2. Tales of a mild winter part deux. Go to local retail park wearing a black cord dress. Buy your wee one among other things, a gorgeous soft white jumper dress with a little bit of sparkle for Christmas. Get covered in white fluff from said dress and pretend it's actually snow while picking it off in the breeze. Today i learnt wearing a cord dress, holding something white and walking through quite a breeze doesn't work. Cloudy too but didn't rain. Needed a cardie. getting old.
  3. In the scheme of a mild winter, I de-iced the freezer today. sunny and some cloud. Alexa says 'some sun and thunderstorms' Alexa is wrong. Don't be like alexa.
  4. No thunder that i'm aware, but it had been raining. Cooling wind but not too cold. Gone from sunny to cloudy. @Snowflake Queen I've got some fur lined boots I wear when the weather hits freezing, so i guess that'll count as frost boots? ?
  5. Nice cool morning and clear. Garden said it was barely above 1c but alexa knows best and said it was 5c. Didn't feel overly cold, a little chilly, but I'm quite surprised how warm I am feeling doing the walk to school at the moment. Tried out thermal T-shirt and thin jumper. The Bizz my friends. P.S. I saw some anvils last night which looked like a dying storm. Very pretty. No pic cos airhead.
  6. Bubs enjoyed her camp. Nice big fire and marshmallows. Not all the girls went, some were put of by the drizzle. But anyway, the rain did get heavier towards the end of the evening, but the woods sheltered them all. Took delivery of winter cold stuffs yesterday. I feel the cold and have been sweating on the walk to school, but i'm sure they will keep till we get any cold. Drizzle today. Bubs off to a sports festival and we have parents evening. \o/
  7. am watching some web cams in eastbourne/brighton and I can't say i see anything noteworthy atm. No flashes, rain pretty much coastal fare. Normal storm fare too everything dying off.
  8. It has to be said An amber for thunder in October is The fact I am nowhere near But in all fairness, my daughter is going to Brownie camp tonight in the woods and a Thunderstorm wouldn't be ideal.
  9. I am but the Harbinger of a mild dry winter. Tell Hubs that where I pick bubs up from school now the wind whips round in the winter, from the fields, in places it shouldn't, so he'd gone and ordered me a thermal T-shirt and leggings. At least I will be warm on Firework night. School photos today. Light rain my back side. Annoying that it stopped when I was walking back.
  10. My husband has just spoken to some work peeps based in Japan (late at night there) and I asked him to ask them what it's like out there at the moment. I got the answer 'Historical'
  11. Looked at radar. Light blue. drizzle outside. *dons waterproof trainers and raincoat' no umbrella as too windy. I dare say the drowned rat look was very recoming this morning.
  12. There will be no snow. Hubs has surprised me with a pair of fur lined, lace up snow boots.
  13. I live for snowy December, which I now have had and it is rare. Once December is out the way I just want the thunderstorms and heat out the way so I can hope for another snowy December. Everyone buy a woolly Hat it's a life changer!.
  14. Today I decided to test drive my new coat as it wasn't even 2c. Some lovely person walked past me and said 'poor soul, no meat on her bones must feel the coat' My village is so lovely. At least I was warm.
  15. It's woolly hat day! To celebrate Bubs and I both wore Black ones. Nice and toasty. I'm used to the weird looks I get each winter. None the less I came back sweating like a pig. Spent all morning prompted by the cool temperatures sorting out some stuffs and moving my summer clothes so i can get the winter stuffs out. Happy days.
  16. And it shall be said that every storm will break up till 4:10pm when you shall be on route to dance pick up ~ Dami1.2
  17. In my world 8c is cold enough for a warm jacket. Notice I don't say coat. Coats are longer. People still wearing shorts and giving me in my jacket weird looks. In their defence, however, although it was sunny, there was still warmth in that sun and it didn't feel overly cold.
  18. Today I discovered a hole in the kitchen bin which also cleaned our patio with bleachy boiling hot water. Then the rain came and moved said water onto the lawn, so Hubs will not be too happy. At least the Bin smells fresher. Enjoying a lovely cosy evening rather than doing the seasonal wardrobe thingy for the girlies in the house as poorly and my leg hurts. There are new stuffs every where.
  19. I have decided I picked one hell of a day and time to get Bubs hair cut. Hairdressers not 4 minutes away but we shall get blown there or i may need to find a boat. OH My Thunder !
  20. Just missed a shower before the school run, 17c according to the garden, no coat needed and bubs just had her fleece lined raincoat with her just in case. Sunny with a little wind, temps up to 20c. Quite pleasant.
